A recent survey by Willis Tower Watson reveals a significant disparity between UK employees' and employers' priorities regarding wellbeing. Financial wellbeing is the top concern for employees, with 59% citing it as their primary issue, yet it is the lowest priority for employers, who are more focused on mental (72%) and physical (45%) health. Employers often provide basic financial support through insurance and retirement programs but lack personalized financial education and decision support. The survey also highlights that nearly nine in ten employees worry about basic living costs, and there is a growing dissatisfaction with employer wellbeing programs. Despite this, employers plan to enhance communication and integrate wellbeing into company culture, aiming to make it a core human capital strategy within the next three years. The disconnect between employer initiatives and employee needs underscores the need for better alignment to improve business outcomes and employee satisfaction.
