Hello ! When developing a new game prototype, it's essential for me to maximize the chance of achieving good KPIs from the first iteration (or at least, to have good insight on how to improve them in a future update). To accomplish this, I focus on various aspects ranging from gameplay to tracking user behavior. Here, we're taking our last game, Dino Valley, as an example. 🐣

🎨 3D Generalist Intern at Sleeping Rooster Studios & Game Design Student 🎮 I unify diverse elements to create strong atmospheric experiences ✨
In my recent one-week game project inspired by Berlin, "Ich brauche den Pfandbon!", I set out to gamify the action of collecting beer containers for deposit returns. Although a 2D point-and-click game, the project features an immersive level selection system, inspired by Google Street View. Despite being quite an ambitious idea for a week, I managed to make it work and I love how it gives the game a lot of character through its cohesive gameplay experience. You can check out my game here: https://lnkd.in/dx2xDXtq Let me know how many bottles you can collect in one level and have fun playing! Here's a little sneak peek into the gameplay:

Creating Strategies, Games, and Mission-Driven Teams that Address Disruptive Trends w/YOU| TENCENT, EA & Activision | Inventor | Investor
As a life long Counter-Strike player, I was unsure how one could add a twist to tactical shooters that hasn't been done. Glad I was wrong. Mountaintop Studios Spectre Divide is a 3v3 tactical shooter featuring a unique "Duality" system where each player controls two bodies, allowing for innovative strategies and more active gameplay. The game combines classic attacker/defender bombsite mechanics with gunplay that features deterministic spray patterns/predictive recoil, and equipment sets, all while focusing on skill over abilities. The game will emphasize regular community competition through "Crews," allowing players to lead teams, climb rankings, and build a legacy in the game's competitive environment. Looking forward in taking part of the playtest.

More accuracy, less guesswork. Isn’t that what we’re all striving for? Quality of Outcome (QoO) captures what traditional network metrics miss. We ran a study on Call of Duty to see how small network delays affect performance. The key takeaway? Even minor delays noticeably impact gameplay, and traditional metrics like latency and jitter fall short, failing to capture the full spectrum of what users endure. 3 key essentials to create a better indie game. Consider these important aspects and try to master them: • Define your Core Gameplay Loop and make it as engaging as possible. • Prototype and test your ideas fast then refine and repeat. • Always look at things from the player's perspective. Understanding these will lead to a more compelling game. P.S. What are your thoughts? Did I miss another important thing? P.P.S Did you get the picture? 😂 #indiedev
