As I reflect on my journey so far in the film industry, working primarily as a production assistant in advertising, I am struck by the incredible path I've embarked upon. For the past 18 months, I've been honing my skills, combining creativity with practical experience, always driven by a vision to do more, to be more. My life, for the most part, has been a grind - a relentless pursuit of a dream, often without a support system. But it's this very grind that has shaped my resilience, my ability to create and tell stories that widen perspectives and share untold narratives. My aspirations are not modest - I see myself as a director and a creative force. I pride myself on my ability to weave disparate elements into a cohesive, engaging narrative. I am eagerly awaiting acceptance into a graduate program for directing, a step that will further refine my skills and expand my network. I believe in the power of collaboration and am open to connecting with professionals across the spectrum of the film industry. In ten years, I envision myself having directed at least one of my own feature-length films, marking my signature in the industry. My goal is to be at the forefront of transitioning cinema into an era of decentralized content. In my view, this shift isn't just about technology; it's about giving voice to untold stories and widening perspectives in a way that reshapes our understanding of the world. To all my connections, old and new, I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Let's create, innovate, and redefine the boundaries of what film can be! #FilmIndustry #Directing #Storytelling #FutureOfCinema #DecentralizedContent #filmmaking #film #filmproduction

Secretary General at The International Federation of Film Distributors’ and Publishers' Associations (FIAD)
📢 FIAD PRESS RELEASE 📢 Today European Parliament has voted to adopt the Report on the implementation of the Creative Europe Programme 2021-2027. 📽 🎬 In this Report MEPs have recognized the importance of the Creative Europe programme in supporting cultural diversity across Europe, including the MEDIA scheme targeted at enhancing the film- audiovisual sector. Within MEDIA, the European Film Distribution and European Film Sales Support schemes are valuable instruments that give a boost to the circulation of European films across the continent. Film distributors take risks by investing in and bringing non-national European films to audiences. MEDIA support offsets some of this risk and therefore must continue to be at the core of a well-financed Creative Europe Programme. FIAD would like to draw attention to the following aspects of the Report and thank MEP Massimiliano Smeriglio - as Rapporteur for the Report - and other Members of the CULT Committee for their careful and considered approach throughout the process: 17. Highlights that the current Creative Europe programme, despite the significantly increased budget for the period 2021-2027, is still oversubscribed; calls on the Commission and the Member States, in this regard, to substantially increase the financial allocation of the Creative Europe programme 2028-2034; 38. Acknowledges that the Media strand remains the main European instrument providing strategic support to the independent audiovisual sector, which consists primarily of small and medium-sized companies; highlights the significant international competition that European audiovisual, cinema and videogame sectors are facing and the crucial support this strand offers for recovery and transformation of these sectors and for increasing the EU’s strategic autonomy; stresses, 41. Underlines the vital roles of the European Film Distribution and European Film Sales support schemes in contributing to the cultural diversity of the European audiovisual sector by increasing the cross-border circulation of European films and offsetting some of the risks distributors take when investing in the production, distribution and promotion of non-national European films; stresses, therefore, that it is essential for funding for both schemes to be increased and for further efforts to be made to ensure the wider circulation and online availability of European works Find the FIAD Press Release in full 👇 https://shorturl.at/cpJX2

SHARING: In filmmaking, especially for series work, camera tests are crucial for pre-production visuals. However, often overlooked is the role of sound in that pre-pre production test. Post-production craftspeople each have their own workflow and method of (what we like to call) “turn-over triage” - in other words - how long will it take to get the audio timeline in shape for a proper edit & mix once it’s turned-over? Taking an early proactive approach to engage in these tests truly enhances efficiency by cultivating the collaboration with production sound, assistant editors, post supervisors and the entire audio department before it even gets in our hands. Recognizing the importance of thorough camera and audio testing directly influences post-mixing success. In essence, this meticulous approach ensures a seamless integration once the post-production clock officially starts and this can make or break a typical tight schedule if anything does not go as planned.

Beyond the Set - Applying Film Production Insights Hello LinkedIn Community! My journey in film production has taught me invaluable lessons that transcend the boundaries of the set and apply to professional life in general. In the world of filmmaking, understanding not only your role but the entire production process and how different departments interact is crucial. This holistic approach to work is a powerful tool, no matter your field. In film, every department, from sound to set design, plays a pivotal role, and their seamless collaboration hinges on mutual understanding and respect for each other’s work. This principle holds true in any professional environment. Whether you're in tech, healthcare, education, or any other industry, appreciating the bigger picture and how various roles interconnect is key to achieving collective success. Here are some universal lessons from film production that are applicable across all professions: •Comprehensive Understanding: Gain a deep understanding of your field’s structure and workflow. This knowledge isn't just about excelling in your role; it's about seeing how your work fits into the larger picture. •Flexibility Within Structure and Seeking Hidden Insights: Learn to operate effectively within the established structures. Constraints often reveal hidden aspects of a project. Embracing these challenges can lead to greater innovation and problem-solving. •Extra Effort for Excellence: Consistency in performing well is fundamental, but true excellence comes from going a step further. It’s the small, additional efforts that accumulate and lead to significant achievements. The skills and insights gained in film production are not confined to the industry. They mold you into a versatile professional, equipped to excel in any field by understanding the importance of comprehensive knowledge, adaptability, and the pursuit of excellence. #professionaldevelopment #insights #film #careergrowth #filmmaking

🥳 The Australian screen industry has received a major boost with the passing of the 30% Location Offset legislation in Federal Parliament. The legislation increased the Federal Location Offset rebate from 16.5 per cent to 30 per cent of qualifying Australian production expenditure and is set to stimulate production activity in Australia. The legislation is a significant boost for the screen industry and will have a direct impact on creative workers in NSW. We can expect an increase in tentpole films choosing to shoot in the state and an increased pipeline of sustained work for those who work in the post, digital and visual effects (PDV) sector.
