Commercial Real Estate Principals: Accelerate revenue growth with the right people in your team, serving ideal clients, inside a business that just works | DM me 'GROW' and let's chat
We’ve taken Juna to Bali for her 4th birthday. It’s probably one more trip than we needed to take this year. But it’s consistent with my current plan of spending 3 months of the year overseas. Some people might say 3 months of travel is a bit excessive. Or that if my “real” life was any good, then I would not want to take that much time away from it. But doing this proves it’s possible to grow my business while working fewer hours than I previously did (it’s happening). And as long as I work smarter, and don’t lose focus on delivering more value to clients, I believe that it’s sustainable. This supports my vision and aligns with my values (I’m not the hustle guy). And it’s also what I want to help my clients achieve for themselves. Because even though 3 months off for a commercial real estate principal might not be possible. The broader point is that we are all compensated based on the value we deliver. Not by the amount of time we spend creating it. And that’s one of the main things I help my clients make the most of. Outside of the business, this is something we have the ability to do now. While Juna is young enough to not worry about her missing school. And, by the end of every trip away, we grow closer as a family, too. Which makes it the best possible of investment of time we could ever make. #cre #cresuccess #productivity #leadership #values #vision #commercialrealestate

Words have power... It’s a notion we often hear, but its truth struck me today. Since I've landed in Bali, my days have been a blend of work and wonder, shared with friends and colleagues, Jordan J. Dominguez and Matty Reed. Today, amidst a usual burst of productivity and the upbeat music setting our vibe, a simple, offhand remark of mine brought everything to a poignant pause... 'I'm tired,' I admitted, as I was pulling off my headphones. The moment the words left my lips, Jordan turned to me, his response hitting me almost instantly with a wake-up call: 'Don't bring that energy into the room.' His words, a friendly correction, reminded me of a passage I once read in Napoleon Hill's 'Think and Grow Rich': 'If you think you are beaten, you are, If you think you dare not, you don't, If you like to win, but think you can't, It is almost certain you won't.' This moment reminded me of how much the words we say, even casually, can shape our mindset and reality. Here I am, in Bali, working on projects with friends, and a simple phrase reminded me of the power of positive thinking and speaking. It's been an incredible experience being here, learning not just from what we're working on, but from each other. This was a real-time lesson in being mindful of how we express our feelings and thoughts. I wanted to share this because it's a reminder of how our everyday language can influence our outlook on work, life, and the challenges we face. It’s about more than just being positive; it’s about shaping our environment with our words. #MindsetMatters #ThinkAndGrowRich #PowerOfWords #BaliWorkTrip"

That time in Bali when a monkey... ...stole my sunglasses. Yes, you read that right. 🐒 I was walking through the Monkey Forest in Ubud, minding my own business. Suddenly, a cheeky little primate swooped down and snatched my favorite shades right off my face. At first, I was furious. My initial reaction was to chase the monkey, but then I stopped. I realized something: life and business are just like that sneaky monkey. They take unexpected turns, test your patience, and sometimes rob you of what you hold dear. But instead of getting angry, I paused, observed, and adapted. I got creative and lured the monkey with a banana to get my sunglasses back. The lesson? Stay calm, be adaptable, and have a banana handy. 🍌 #BusinessLessons #Adaptability #StayCalm #MonkeyBusiness P.S. I help brilliant minds like you create a virtual academy from your unique insights. Flowers do not bloom without rain, and I believe humans also need some difficult times to grow. That's at least what being self-employed has taught me. But how can we overcome those tough times? 🌸 1 Make fixed plans for the future you're looking forward to. In my case, it was a month-long workation in Bali. 🏝️ 2 Focus on things that energize you. Implement small activities daily that remind you why you're doing what you're doing. For me, it's spending at least 10 minutes painting my art every day. 🎨 3 Surround yourself with people who understand your situation and support you. 👫 REMEMBER, everything is temporary, including difficult times. #workacion #selfemplyed #remotework

The 3 Time Zones We Are Constantly Juggling Past. Present. Future. In theory, they happen in sequence, in reality the sequence is never clean. Unresolved matters move from #past to present. Present is… well, #present. But present is also where preparations for #future events are made. No wonder, present is always chaotic, because that’s where the 3 time zones collide. And then within a fleeting moment, present becomes future. Life goes on. The #juggling continues. Coming back from the super long Idul Fitri holiday, I knew that #intense juggling was in view. Pending items are pouring as hard as the raindrops during monsoon season in Jakarta. The BAU still needs to be done. And at the same time, I am preparing for my personal #trip to Uzbekistan with my bestie writer Mia Amalia and Agustinus Wibowo, author of “Garis Batas”. Often times we feel that we are well prepared for #life. But when life happens, it just #happens. So, what’s happening now in your life? #WhyIbu? #LifeOutsideWork

Fraser's Hill: the "Little England" of Malaysia. This area was discovered in the 1890s by Louis James Fraser, a Scottish pioneer who ventured into the mountains to set up a tin ore trading station. It is now a quaint colonial-era hill station known for its cool climate—you may need a jumper—and scenic beauty. It offers a respite from the heat and the hustle and bustle of Kuala Lumpur. I've just returned from a mini personal strategy retreat to wrap up the quarter and plan for the next. Retreats are beneficial not only for boards, management, and staff but also for individuals. I personally love the clarity that comes from being in a different, positive environment when daily distractions and habits are removed. Fraser's Hill does an excellent job at that. Daily journaling and goal-setting are also crucial parts of it. The daily 5-minute check-in sets the tone for the day, and journaling has helped me discover my real priorities and where I am most effective. Here is some reading on the value of self-reflection: "Why You Should Make Time for Self-Reflection" by Jennifer Guckel Porter https://lnkd.in/gE7WKSE4. To the next quarter! #jounaling #goal #goalsetting #retreat #reflection #priority

What I have learned from the Silver Leaf Monkeys in Malaysia... 🐒A few years ago, during a family visit to Malaysia, we went on a road trip to a park filled with Silver Leaf Monkeys. Our encounter with these creatures thought me so much. 👉One big difference of the communication approach of these monkeys was their gentle touch, a quality that, sorry to say this seems increasingly rare even among humans today. 🐒As they curiously climbed onto our shoulders, they were deliberate and they paid attention to not to hurt us.❤️ 🤗We are talking about monkeys from the nature, living freely not in a cage and they have never been trained 👉They sought permission, showed their intention, connected with us, and reached out to touch our hands as a gesture of lovefilled connection.❤️ As The Dancing Economist and someone with a background as a professional dancer I use this technic every day in life and in business. 💃 Please take a moment to reflecting on this experience. Here are some thought provoking questions for you: ➡️When was the last time, as a human being, you engaged in such a gentle, intentional interaction? ➡️Have you ever taken a moment to connect in this way? Try it this weekend and let me know how it went in the comments. If you are interested in a different type of corporate workshop that helps to improve the communication skills of your team, let's have a chat.
