Changemakers! I’m thrilled to be presenting at the F&P (Fundraising & Philanthropy) Big4 conference in Melbourne on 31 October. The conference covers the Big 4 income generating opportunities: Major Gifts, Grants, Gifts in Wills and Corporate Partnerships. My session will explore the 4 purses that you can tap into for resources, and why each purse has a different motivation for partnering with a non profit. I’m joined by Coles Group who will share the story of their incredible Mums Sause product that’s raised millions of dollars for Hospitals United For Sick Kids and Chobani Australia who will share their partnership with Foodbank Victoria. This will lead into a juicy 20 minute Q&A. It’s rare to have the opportunity to ask a corporate executive those burning questions so grab your ticket now! Lots of other great speakers on the day as well. Including Berry Street talking about their partnership with The Good Guys and RFDS and Rio Tinto. If you have a burning question you’d like me to include, I’m all ears! Early bird saving still available. Fundraising ethics is a complex thing. 🤔 You might say it’s mainly about adhering to codes of practice (which you’d be forgiven for thinking, because that’s often how fundraising ethics is presented). Codes, though, can’t cover every ethical dilemma a fundraiser might encounter, and there’s many gaps, grey areas and much ambiguity. What you cannot do, is fill those gaps by falling back on ‘gut feel’ to determine the right course of action. How do we know this? Because Ian MacQuillin MCIOF(Dip) told us. Ian is one of the world’s leading thinkers on fundraising ethics & director of UK’s Rogare - The Fundraising Think Tank. We're excited to be able to spend face to face time with Ian and unpack the many shades of grey in ethics. He’s in Australia (Melbourne) for a short time only (one day – next Monday) and for one reason (speaking at The Fundraising Nest, Nest Fest Down Under). Why don’t you join us? We've had the privilege of working with master storyteller Simon Oats and can't wait to join him in just over a weeks time at Nest Fest Down Under!
"Hello, fundraisers. My name is Simon Oats, storyteller. And like all the people in the know, I will be coming to Fundraising Nest Nest Fest down under 2024. I'm coming to share the juice on powerful storytelling, neurologically targeted stories and what they can do for your fundraising and donation drives. And you've all heard the story about stories, right? That we have to have great stories for donor engagement and support. But what stories are you going to tell and how do you tell them? Because if you're not getting it right, you could be getting it very wrong! In my workshop, I'm gonna show you how to share stories that are relevant and compelling to your target audience, that tell your message clearly through a story, that engage them emotionally, and most importantly, that prime their brains to take action on your message. Because when you get it right, purposeful storytelling can generate cash, galvanize support, and create powerful word of mouth. So join me at Nest Fest Down Under 2024" Simon Oats. What you waiting for? It's Friday the perfect day to some professional housekeeping and jump online right NOW and secure your seat 🔽 https://lnkd.in/gB-pN_8m #powerful #storytelling #engage #emotion

A lot of people in our community will have heard Hailey talk about the four purses 👛. It's a critical distinction that can empower non profits in their pursuit of corporate partnerships. We'll be sharing this and so much more at Nest Fest in a few weeks time on Monday 9 September! Grab your tickets via the link in post below!!
"Non -profits really need to understand the corporate landscape. I have this thing, which I talk about a lot, called the four purses, which helps people to understand that there are four distinct places within a corporate or a brand where they can access not just money, but resources. There's the HR purse, the CSR purse, or ESG as it's called now, terms come and go, whatever's trendy. And then there's the marketing purse, which is the huge purse and often untapped. And then there's the Philanthropic purse. Non -profits obviously know how to apply for grants, but they are less aware and skilled in targeting the CSR and marketing purses, which are the two biggest purses. Our students are working their way through Module 3 - Prospects List, where they identify potential companies and brands that could make great partners. Partners based on synergy - with your organisation's brand, audience, geographic reach and so on. Next month, we're hosting a half day workshop in partnership with Fundraising Nest that teaches this process! If you'd like to learn a fresh, proactive way of approaching prospects rather than submitting proposals to random suspects or worse still, people that your board members simply know, visit this website and register your seat today 👉 https://lnkd.in/gMU8TzhD

Our students are working through Module 3 - Prospects List this month. This is where they develop a list of potential corporate partners that they will actively approach for partnership 🤝 It's a simple process that enables our students to target companies that have synergy with their organisation. It's called the bullseye formula and you can read all about it in our blog here: https://lnkd.in/gpR6-CqD If you'd like to learn the beginnings of our prospecting process, we've partnered with Fundraising Nest to deliver a prospecting workshop on Wednesday 9 October.
