It is inspiring to see the European Union recognizing the situation's urgency and taking proactive steps towards addressing these challenges. Investing in resilient responses, stepping up peace-building efforts, and engaging in a permanent dialogue with the scientific community are crucial strategies for mitigating the impact of climate change and promoting global security.

Mayors highlight cities’ central role in leading climate actions such as building renovations and developing sustainable transport. However, when it comes to being able to fund climate action and other priorities, mayors state that they are not receiving enough support from the EU or their national governments.
