The Nijhuis Saur Industries UK and Ireland H&S team asked questions of the Truro Scientific and Maintenance teams about any issues they faced in their normal daily activities, the topic that came up consistently was the Lone Working element of the business. Field technicians undertake monitoring programs in the many waterways around the Southwest where access is often remote and off the beaten track of normal pedestrian routes. The tasks can have a high-risk factor to the employees, therefore it is vital that we know where the team are and can respond in the event of anything happening to put the employee at risk. The current application for the Lone Working coverage is an App-based system using the work devices the employees already have. However, there can sometimes be issues of network coverage. The supplier of one of the devices we are considering has listened to our concerns and can tailor an alert system to the management team of the employees to notify when a device is out of connection for a set period. That will then set in motion a sequence of check-ins from the admin teams to the individuals to ensure they are safe and not in any danger. Layers of communication: - Manual - patented SOS latch so your people can send an emergency call for help - Automatic - automated no motion and fall detection let your device send an alert when your people can’t - Time-based - identifies when a team member misses a scheduled check-in By looking to implement this new device into our operations, we can better secure the health and safety of Lone Workers with alarms being raised and automatically notifying the specialist centre to call out to employees, escalating up through the specified management team and eventually emergency services if no response is established. This is just one of many ways our NSI Health & Safety team continually work to refine our operations to secure the well-being of all our employees. #missionwater #healthandsafety

PNG Power urgently needs a complete overhaul. The delays, lack of communication, and failure to resolve issues like service line isolation for days on end show a serious lack of accountability and efficiency. It's frustrating when customers are left without power, and follow-ups result in empty promises. This kind of service isn't acceptable, and real change is long overdue. We've (more than 10 houses) been without service for 9 days now, despite countless follow-ups. Every time we contact customer support, we get the same response: "We'll follow up with the operations team." I've even called the operations team directly, and they assured me they'd attend to it. I even went to their office in person, and still, nothing. It seems like there's no urgency or care for the situation, and we're left in the dark—literally and figuratively. Very frustrating. #PNGPower
