Happy Interns Day! I spoke with one of my clients about the interns she has working with her this summer and she told me about a question she asked each of them recently. She asked each of them what they hadn't worked on yet but wanted to before the end of the summer. I think this is such an important thing to find out. Remember, you have the ability to help a young person determine their future path right now. Talk to your interns. Ask questions. Find out what they love and don't love. Did you know that 70% of companies believe internships are a critical way to find future full-time employees? 🌟 As a past intern turned business owner I cannot agree more! Today, I'm thrilled to introduce our incredible new summer interns! 🎉 Watching fresh faces step onto our team with enthusiasm and innovative ideas is always a highlight of the job. We had over 50 applicants this semester and these six bright minds bring new perspectives that challenge us to think differently and push boundaries. Meet Noah Pelo, Angel Decker, Kiernan Dunn, Zac Doggett, Riley Mortenson, and Sydney Harrison – six individuals who have already started making waves in their few weeks. We have four different internship tracks this summer. Producing, Video Production, Post Production, and Sales. Why are internships this important? Because recognizing creative potential and educating about the real world of production for our interns not only boosts their confidence but also shines a light on the future they could hold. When we uplift others, we create a ripple effect that benefits everyone in our network. 🚀 Ever thought hiring an intern was more trouble than it's worth? Think again! 🔑 With the right groundwork and alignment of expectations, welcoming an intern into your team can be a game-changer—not just for them but also for you. 🤝 The intern-manager relationship is a two-way street. By providing the right environment and investing in their growth, you're gaining an extra pair of hands, fresh perspectives, and invaluable insights that can benefit your team. 💼 Internships aren't a drain. Flip the narrative and embrace them. With summer internships right around the corner, here are three actionable tips that have proven effective in maximizing the impact of interns on my team: 1. Invest in their onboarding. They're only with you for a short period and must ramp up quickly. Remember this and arm them with what they need to know to do their job well from day one. 2. Set clear expectations. This is often their first time in a professional setting for many interns. What do you expect them to deliver? What are their KPIs? Online hours? Depending on their level, give them a mix of rote tasks and a project. The project is a great resume-building opportunity for them! 3. Spend time with them. Get to know them and you'll be surprised at how much you'll learn and bonus, you'll both be building your network. I've gone on to hire many interns for full time roles! Congratulations summer interns🏆 are you ready to get to work? One thing I think is important for this new summer intern class to work on is utilization, each sprinkle on the cupcake represents a different way to use the L'Oreal makeup. What can you as interns do to make sure I get my money's worth by using every bit of makeup I buy from L'Oreal? The words fun and vibes are really good to use if you are just introducing yourself for the first time. When you're investing money on these types of products you expect them to be there even after you complete your marketing interview. What secrets have you learned from working behind L'Oreal?

I am proud that pigybak is bringing on our first interns for the summer to support their growth and development while also expanding our team's capacity, something that is very needed! Zeel Modi - Business Development Intern, Cleveland State Isaiah L. - Product Management Intern, Cleveland State Madison Kellier - Marketing Intern, Case Western With their diverse backgrounds and energy, I am excited for the impact they will be making in our small but mighty organization. We will be officially onboarding next week with an all hands call and locking in our schedules. Special thanks to the Greater Cleveland Partnership for their internship program which involves funding founders like me. In addition, thank you to LaunchNET Baldwin Wallace University, SeaChange, and the Burton D. Morgan Foundation for the award of a follow on grant which will make sure to provide our interns with the resources to make an impact! Some quick tips for onboarding interns from back when I lead the Co-Op program at Philips: -Understand what each individual would like to get out of the program. It may not be the exact role and responsibility you had in mind, so be flexible. For example, Zeel will also be supporting me in my financial model development. 1. Set clear roles and responsibilities ahead along with deliverables. RACI charts are gold 2. Set a meeting cadence and communication plan to support them 3. Just from a house keeping point of view, have offer letters, NDAs, and an onboarding document that outlines key resources and systems they'll need. Have you supported summer interns in the past?
