Thank you so much to my BLBD guest this week, founder of the Conscious Dying Institute, Tarron Estes. Many years ago, Tarron had a dream in which these words came to her, and she wrote them down and called it Practice for Death. This practice is a moving way to be with mortality, and I am so grateful to Tarron for sharing her wisdom and experience with all of us. I just asked ChatGPT about the origin of this quote, and here’s what it says: “The quote ‘It’s not too late, until it’s too late’ is often attributed to the American writer and journalist Mitch Albom. He is known for his inspirational and reflective style, particularly in his book Tuesdays with Morrie. The quote captures the essence of seizing opportunities and taking action before it’s too late.” Indeed!

Tarron Estes is no stranger to death. Raised by a mother who sat vigil with the dying, Tarron understood from a young age the power and possibility of liminal spaces. With her mother now 94 years old and living with dementia, Tarron and her siblings grapple with mom's dementia and the complexities of the family system. How do these dynamics affect all involved? What are some resources that offer support? A vulnerable, personal story. Listen here: https://lnkd.in/gCAmsssk https://lnkd.in/gtSBaxiP @consciousdyinginstitute
