foodpanda Launches "Meal for One" Service for Solo Diners in Asia foodpanda has launched a new service called “Meal for One”. This service is targeted towards solo diners in Asia. According to Luc Andreani, Chief Operating Officer of foodpanda, this demographic is growing as more people move to urban areas and live alone for work. Single-person households are the fastest-growing household type, and this trend is expected to continue until 2040. “Meal for One” offers curated set menus designed for a single person at lower prices. Additionally, there is no minimum order required and delivery fees are lower. Currently, “Meal for One” is available in seven Asian markets with around 20,000 restaurants offering this option. The service is expected to be rolled out to more markets in the coming months. #foodpanda #asia #fooddelivery #deliveryapp #gigeconomy

Foodpanda Reviews vs. Daraz Reviews: A Tale of Two Platforms Ever noticed how you diligently review your latest food delivery on Foodpanda, but rarely leave feedback on your Daraz purchases? Me too! It's interesting, considering the platforms cater to such different needs. Foodpanda is all about instant gratification. We devour our meals, form an immediate opinion (delicious or disaster?), and can easily leave a review with a few taps. The immediacy makes feedback almost instinctive. Daraz, on the other hand, is a waiting game. We order, wait for delivery, then (hopefully) enjoy our product. But by the time that happens, the initial excitement (or frustration!) has often faded. We forget to leave a review, and the cycle continues. Is this a case of platform design or consumer behavior? Perhaps both! Foodpanda makes reviewing effortless, while Daraz might benefit from a gentle reminder system. What are your thoughts? Do you find yourself reviewing more on one platform vs. the other? Let's discuss in the comments! #daraz #foodpanda #onlinereviews #consumerbehavior #pakistan #ecommerce P.S: Great recommendation! If you're looking for a hearty and flavorful meal on Foodpanda, Arif Murgh Chanay's Matka Bong Paye are definitely worth trying.

Creating better meal occasions 🍴 Founder / The Meals Collective || Fractional Commercial / Product Director || Advisor & Consultant || Sector Agnostic || ex gousto, ocado, Co-op, Qatar Airways
📈 MY JOURNEY to creating The Meals Collective 🍽 has been quite a learning curve: Read more here ⤵ Some of my new connections may not be familiar with my squiggly career in food - so below is a little story for you. I now support food businesses in different ways and via The Meals Collective. For more info, please get in touch, or read my post tomorrow. ___ 🤖 Ocado Retail - a new sector for me: pure play eCommerce, and my first role in food. I joined ocado in 2010 and built unique ranges of category specific products like 'dairy' and 'fresh produce'. I quickly realised the way to drive penetration was to drive cross category visibility. So I pioneered meal deals and started collaborating with other suppliers and team members. From this, meal deals became mainstays, and ocado set themselves apart early on in online. My greatest learning - Learn fast. eCommerce is more dynamic and challenging than bricks and mortar with an even greater need for attention to detail - have a very clear, well laid out plan, and be ready to pivot to a new one. ___ ✈ 🇶🇦 Qatar Airways - the world's best airline, opening a new $16bn airport I was tasked with creating a new food travel retail concept to open in just 9 months, whilst developing a brand that transcended cultures and enticed jet-lagged travellers. Qatar offered me the opportunity to work in a truly unique culture with 40+ nationalities, for a business that catered to 100+ nationalities - there is nothing else quite like travel retail, particularly airport retail. Combine this with sourcing 1000 new products from 20+ countries; developing own brands, and organising their timely arrival for opening, this role was the greatest personal challenge I've undertaken. Marmalade Market launched in May 2014 and turned over $2.1m in year one. My greatest learning - know your customers, observe them, talk to them. Nothing matters more. ___ 🔴 Gousto - back in the UK, I joined at the infancy of 'meal kits' to develop a highly targeted and clearly segmented range of recipes and menus, whilst scaling our supply chains for 10x growth over 3 years. Gousto was the all time scaling journey. 🚀 Timo Boldt Fundamental to our success was leveraging data and insight and creating bespoke processes that allowed teams to collaborate, and work day to day to deliver stretch goals and rising demand. My greatest learning - a high performing team must be well equipped and will rise to the challenges of 'scale ups' if they are looked after. ___ 🔵 Co-op - leading a 'mission focused' team that was formed in an industry first amidst a pandemic and ever changing consumer behaviour. Why? To transform our omnichannel approach to 'meal for tonight'. We innovated, we led in qCommerce and we challenged the status quo like never before whilst delivering a P+L that saw revenue peak at £520m pa. Paul C.

I’m really starting to feel the pressure with these new Foodpanda updates. 😅 1. Delivery charges over 90 PKR almost every time. 💸 2. The delightful addition of platform fees. 🙄 3. Now we have to choose between standard delivery and priority delivery—because, of course, we needed more choices! 😂 Seriously, Foodpanda? To place an order, we’re paying delivery charges and having to decide between standard and priority delivery? If you want it quicker, just pay extra! 💰 But honestly, wasn’t the whole point of food delivery supposed to be about convenience and speed? This tiered system feels like it's missing the mark on what really matters—getting our food fast without all this extra hassle. Sometimes, it’s better to keep things simple and focus on what truly makes the service valuable. #Foodpanda #DeliveryDilemma #WhySoComplicated

The online grocery store Pandamart is home to the new private-label "Bright" option from Foodpanda, an Asian-focused meal delivery and e-grocery platform. There are 1,000 goods available under the #private label, which are divided into three sub-brands Brightspots for domestic needs, Brightyums for pantry staples and ready-to-eat meals, and Brightfarms for fresh produce. All Pandamart stores in its markets will carry colourful merchandise, with the largest selection initially found in Singapore and Malaysia. Foodpanda claims that purchasing directly from #suppliers increases the cost-effectiveness of Bright items and may enable clients to save up to 25% in comparison to goods obtained from other sources. According to the company, this action aligns with Foodpanda's goal of catering to clients who are budget conscious. foodpanda introduced its own brand, Brightfields, in 2021. It featured a small range of pantry essentials, such as eggs, tissue paper, and mineral water. Since then, it has expanded its range of products to include more things like cleaning supplies and fresh fruits. Following the termination of negotiations to sell Foodpanda in a few Southeast Asian areas, Foodpanda's parent company Delivery Hero announced its expansion. According to reports, Grab was one of the possible purchasers of the meal #delivery company.
