On- and near-site clinics may seem like a good idea for employers who want to offer convenient and accessible health care to their employees. However, these models have some drawbacks that may outweigh their benefits. Here are some reasons why on- and near-site clinics miss the mark for most employers: • They require a large upfront investment and ongoing maintenance costs. • They may not be able to handle complex or specialized care needs, resulting in referrals and higher costs. • They do not address the needs of the hybrid workforce, creating barriers to access. • They may not improve employee health outcomes or satisfaction, as they do not address the social and environmental factors that affect health. Instead of on- and near-site clinics, employers should consider other options to provide more comprehensive, personalized, and holistic care for their employees, such as home-based primary care. This model can lower costs, improve quality, and increase engagement while respecting employee privacy and autonomy. #HR #employeeengagement #employeebenefits #Healthcare #Wellness #tectonichealth

In today's ever-evolving work environment, attracting and retaining top talent remains a paramount concern for employers. As the expectations and priorities of the workforce continue to shift, it's crucial for organizations to revisit and expand their employee benefit offerings. One vital strategy to remain competitive is the thorough reassessment and refocusing of employee benefits, placing a renewed emphasis on convenient access to primary and preventative care. Prioritizing Primary and Preventative Care Access to primary and preventative care is paramount to employee well-being, and the data supports this assertion. A study by the National Institute for Health Care Management (NIHCM) Foundation in 2021 found that access to primary care can result in 33% lower healthcare costs and 19% fewer hospital admissions. This signifies a direct correlation between easy access to primary care and reduced healthcare expenditure for both employers and employees. Moreover, it is evident from a Gallup poll in 2022 that employees who receive regular primary care are 60% more likely to be engaged in their work, leading to a positive impact on overall productivity and job satisfaction. By ensuring employees have convenient access to these essential healthcare services, employers can foster a healthier, happier, and more productive workforce. #healthcare #wellbeing #directprimarycare #DPC #benefits #HR
