This Sunday we come together from 1:30-3:30PM starting from Science World (the south side of False Creek seawall and we walk to MillBank/Leg-In-Boot) to respect and acknowledge our grief, celebrate, and commemorate our losses. Who would you walk with on this no fanfare, but community of people standing together because we've all been there?

Grief and Healing: The State of Veterans with Doug Setter. WARNING: This conversation is focused on #veterans, #ex-militaries/ #armies and may have triggering events or words. On Monday, July 1st, at 4 PM PST, my guest will be Doug Setter. With his military experience, Doug will help us understand the culture and challenges within this system. Many ex-military personnel face suicides and addictions due to inadequate support. I know several individuals personally affected by this. How can society support our veterans and their grieving families when they return home fundamentally changed? This discussion may be triggering for some, but it's crucial to address these issues and inspire healing by asking the right questions. https://lnkd.in/gX_bAEM7 We know that grief could come from all sorts of circumstances such as: death of a loved one, a pet, losing a job, health or even a social structure. All can contribute to loneliness, social isolation, and mental health. In response to comments I heard from people that when it comes to grieving, people don't know "how to" without self-medicating between June to August leading to the "Honour Walk" on September 21. My goal for hosting this livestream conversation is so we could learn to let go of some grief we were carrying with us in order to move forward into healing. This is not a counselling session but simply learning from a human experience. Take Action: 1. We want to hear from a personal experience without bringing painful memories, if any, to tackle the most sensitive, awkward and hardly discussed topics. 2. Donate to our work. 3. Register to join the walk on September 21

This announcement was made during a week of #GivingTalentsSpring2024 on #May24 that made my day. When I first met @Hussain Zaguru AbdulQadir who is now a @GivingTuesdaySparkNigeria, he dreamed of creating and building a bright future for children and youth with better education and care for their environment. Just thrilled to partner and collaborate with this young man when he pledged #1000trees planting in his city and hopefully seeing the ripple effect around the globe. What gives me joy the most is when I can introduce people to each other. On #23May2024, I hosted a "week of #GivingTalentsSpring2024" and I invited the founder of @ManzilMystics @Anurag Hoon to tell us how he and his team is pledging to educate 8000 low-income family through music. I found another organization in Vancouver, BC who is very excited to work together on a "PenPal" program with their children and youth. This is what a ripple effect looks like. Will you help them educate the next world leaders? www.manzilmystics.org
