Happy Pride Month! 🌈 Pride Month for LGBTQ+ honors the progress made for equal rights and treatment. It also allows time for reflection on the systemic oppression and injustice that still impact LGBTQ+ folks. Inequity harms mental health, and the LGBTQ+ community faces higher rates of mental health struggles due to stigma, discrimination, and bias. Prioritizing self-care—such as connecting with supportive friends, practicing mindfulness, and seeking professional help—is essential for resilience and well-being. Here are some ways to build resiliency and support your friends, coworkers and family. Let's continue to recognize and address these issues every day, not just in June. #PrideMonth #LGBTQ+ #MentalHealth #BetteringLives

To wrap up Pride Month, I just want to remind everyone that members of the LGBTQ+ community tend to have very different experiences with the US healthcare system than non-community members. Not only is access more difficult, they also tend to have more negative experiences with providers. If you're a provider, consider how you can make your practice more LGBTQ+ friendly! Educate yourself and staff on different genders, sexualities, and terminology, customize your intake forms, create a visually welcoming environment (E.G. putting out LGBTQ+ health brochures), and avoid making assumptions. Everyone makes mistakes. Don't aim for perfection—aim for growth and learning! By making yourself a welcoming provider, you contribute to the health of the LGBTQ+ population at large. #PrideMonth #Healthcare #LGBTQ #LGBTQHealth

🌈 June is Pride Month, a time to celebrate love, identity, and the vibrant diversity of the LGBTQ+ community. It's also a crucial time to acknowledge the challenges many LGBTQ+ young people face. The Trevor Project’s 2023 U.S. National Survey on the Mental Health of LGBTQ Young People revealed a heartbreaking statistic: 41% of LGBTQ+ young people seriously considered attempting suicide in the past year, with roughly half of transgender and nonbinary youth experiencing these thoughts. This Pride Month, let's come together to uplift and protect our LGBTQ+ youth. Everyone deserves to live a life filled with hope, acceptance, and love. 💜 [PIC] #LGBTQ #LGBTQSuicidePrevention #Pride #PrideMonth #MentalHealthMatters #MentalHealth #Depressed #Depression #Suicidal #Anxious #Anxiety #Lonely #SuicidePrevention #Help #MentalHealthAwareness #Suicide #Pain #YouAreNotAlone #YouAreEnough

We are working on some great new shows at Rivet360. What makes a podcast great? There are a lot of factors, including: 1) Passion. When there’s passion about the stories being told, then people put the extra time in to make sure everyone is getting the story right. 2) Planning. Like all other projects, setting up a show for success takes work. The planning part isn’t sexy, but it’s foundational. Really thinking through tone, audience, cadence, format, guests and music up front free you up to focus on the story arc of each episode later on. 3) Positioning. If you build it, they won’t come. You need to put the show in front of the listeners it’s intended for. Make it easy for them. Connor Whitley has been a dream client. He loves the subject matter of the show and is excited about all the voices we’re platforming. I think he actually does find the planning sexy! And he’s partnering with his marketing team to leverage all of Senior Planet’s comms channels.
We’re excited to present Senior Planet’s latest episode of Aging Rewired, Aging with Pride, featuring Wes Morrison as he sheds light on the importance of safe and inclusive spaces for older adults in the LGBTQ+ community. We love working with Senior Planet and are so happy to help them achieve their vision of amplifying these vital conversations. Discover the incredible stories of resilience, strength, and unity that define this community, and learn how they continue to support each other both online and offline. Your support as a listener is vital to spreading these powerful messages. Our differences should bring us closer. Today is the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia. This world can be a scary place for those from the LGBTQ+ community. Hate crimes. Violent speeches. Marginalization. Persecution. Is it any wonder that LGBTQ+ individuals are more than twice as likely to have a mental health disorder compared to their heterosexual counterparts? That LGBTQ+ teens are more likely to experience symptoms of depression? And more than twice as likely to feel suicidal? In a world that seeks to divide, today is a day to remind us that fear may have only one color, but love has many. Support and share this post to show your allyship for the LGBTQ+ community. #diversity #mentalhealth #lgbtq

🌈 Happy Pride Month! 🌈 This month, we celebrate and spread awareness of the LGBTQ+ community in the workplace and their mental health. Did you know: - 31% of LGBTQ+ individuals have faced discrimination and micro-incidents at work. - 85% of employees believe that a diverse and inclusive workforce is crucial for driving innovation. - Using a trans young person's correct name and pronouns can reduce symptoms of depression by 71%, thoughts of suicide by 34%, and suicide attempts by 65%. - 1 in 4 people in the LGBTQ+ community have left a job because they didn’t feel accepted. Remember, your words matter! 🗣 When it comes to using the right terminology, we know that most people don't have bad intentions. But the more inclusive we can be, the better everyone will feel. Being mindful of our daily language can make us more aware and encourage reflection on how we can embrace everyone. 🫶 🏳️🌈 #pridemonth #LGBTQ #inclusiveworkplaces #mentalhealthmatters #yourwordsmatter
