Update from Primary Vision! In the wake of Hurricane Beryl, we’ve observed the impact on oil and gas operations across Texas, with moderate disruptions. The storm’s impact on operations, particularly in the Permian Basin and Western Gulf, was noteworthy. Uptime has been affected, with almost 3 million people and businesses losing power and thousands still without power in the southeastern part of the state. This will put pressure on the Frac Spread Count and Frac Job Count as a shadow effect on last week’s activity and ultimately this week’s forecasts. #OilAndGas #EnergyUpdate #WTI #HurricaneBeryl #TexasEnergy #FracSpreadCount #FracSpread #FracJobCount #FracJob #Frac #Shale #oil #gas #naturalgas #EagleFord #Permian #oott #crude

The New York Times is fine with Chevron ads popping up when I or other subscribers click on reporting for Project 2025. That means The New York Times is part of the problem of perpetuating the fossil fuels (oil, gas, and coal) that are dangerously overheating our planet Earth. This affects everybody negatively overall. The New York Times probably knows they’re doing a bad thing, but when Big Oil comes knocking the NYT has its hand out for the money. You can do better NYT. It’s egregious when the pop-up ad for Oil & Gas drilling in the Gulf of Mexico occurs at the same time Hurricane Beryl (first ever Category 4 & 5 Hurricane from Atlantic Ocean this early in July) kills people and destroys everything in its path. Hundreds of thousands of people in the Houston area have been without power for weeks! We have record heat waves from burning excessive fossil fuels and you’re advertising for fossil fuels? WTF NYT? JTB 7-16-24 Here’s the response I got from NYT…for an ad that claims drilling in the Gulf of Mexico gets the cleanest oil. This still shot dissolves to the preposterous claim of clean oil. “Hi there, Our team has determined that this ad is in line with our acceptability guidelines. You can update some personal ad preferences by clicking the Ad Choices logo, when available on the ad, or visiting their website. Additionally, clearing your browser cookies may also reduce the recurrence of specific ads. Please let me know if you have any other questions.”

Unfortunately, Hurricane Helene is forecasted to make landfall as a Category 3 hurricane on the eastern Florida Panhandle, with wind speeds of 115 mph. While the storm’s path takes it away from areas near Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi, the impact on energy infrastructure is still significant. As of yesterday (25th September, 12.30 ET), nearly 29% of oil production/511,000bpd and 17% of natural gas production/313 mcfpd on offshore platforms in the Gulf of Mexico have been suspended, according to BSEE. Major companies like bp, Chevron, and Shell have evacuated staff from 17 production platforms, making up around 5% of the Gulf’s manned platforms. The U.S. Coast Guard reports multiple port closures along the Gulf Coast, halting inbound and outbound traffic, including at Port Tampa Bay, where an estimated 17 million tons of petroleum and natural gas products move through. Florida is now bracing for widespread power outages due to the expected high winds, flooding, and storm surges. As always, my thoughts are with all those impacted and affected. You average 30% on delivery charges from the Powerplant, transmission lines to your house. You get another 30% on State taxes, energy taxes. Now coming 2025 T.O.U. Taxes. TIME OF USE! Meaning next time there is a big demand like 100 degree weather, 10 below zero or bad weather They will DDOOUUBBLLEE the rate like California 2023 from >26 cents per Kilo watt hour to .52 cents for TIME OF USE? You have a choice! Go online, get a quote and see if it makes sense. It doesn't matter if you have small children, empty nesters or moving. Its like buying a new car , maybe electric or even Hybrid, but at least 30MPG right? READ YOU BILL!
Look at this power bill that one of our Houston, Texas customers got last August — a brutally hot month here. His electric utility paid HIM more than $400 for the electricity he put on the grid. He also had power throughout the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl last month, even as neighbors suffered outages. $1B in restoration costs for a progressive IOU that already does underground. Imagine if they did not. These costs must be considered when evaluating the “total cost of ownership” of T&D assets over their decades long life. NextEra Energy Chairman, President and CEO John Ketchum said investments in such things as underground power lines helped reduce outages and that FPL power plants and solar facilities "sustained no significant damage." "For nearly two decades, FPL has invested significantly in building a stronger, smarter and more storm-resilient grid," he said. "The performance of our system demonstrates that FPL's hardening, undergrounding, automation and smart grid investments are providing significant benefits to our customers." And…. To learn more about undergrounding, please listen to the next PDi2 webinar with Condux on October 29th. https://lnkd.in/ejJC9Tme Thanks….Mike

𝙂𝙪𝙡𝙛 𝙊𝙞𝙡 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙂𝙖𝙨 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 In the wake of Hurricane Francine, oil and gas production in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico remains disrupted; according to the U.S. @Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, about 20% of the region's crude oil and 28% of its natural gas production are offline. The hurricane, which struck as a Category 2 storm, caused extensive damage across Louisiana and neighboring states, affecting infrastructure and energy production facilities. Currently, 37 oil and gas platforms are still evacuated, down from 171 at the height of the storm. This ongoing disruption has led to cumulative losses of approximately 2.16 million barrels of crude oil and 4.635 billion cubic feet of natural gas. The industry continues to assess the full impact as recovery efforts are underway. #EnergySector #HurricaneFrancine #OilAndGas #MarketImpact https://lnkd.in/dCbh-sV7
