Unfortunately there's a trend right now among directors (and for the last few years) of attempting to take away credit from VFX artists... the same directors who rely on tons of VFX to make their movies look good because creating such HUGE scenes with practical effects is just... impossible.
Let's be honest, it's just plain impossible. And that's the very reason why VFX were used. And that's okay! It's okay to use VFX, it's okay to use all the tools at your disposal to create a great movie. What's not okay is lying about it in a way that affects people's credits and livelihood, especially when yourself as a director make millions.
Directors do this to avoid the backlash that has affected bad CGI shots for the last 15 years... so now, directors, producers, and others, if you don't want to get backlash for bad CGI shots, there's a simple way: give cg artists and studios the time and money necessary to FINISH those shots to the highest quality possible. And stop "pixel f***ing" shots. No one cares if that one pixel in the corner is color "c46123" or "b8571c". For real, both as a VFX artist and as a spectator, I don't care, nor does anyone else. What matters is that the image as a whole looks believable.
Now, for all artists who like me aren't discouraged by this and still want to level up their skills... for artists with an interest in mechanical rigging, join the mechanical rigging course fall session with CGMA! We start at the beginning of October! :D

😫 NOCGI? 😯 Since my post from last weekend blew up, let's continue spreading awareness about this nonsense. Long live VFX, long live humans creating digital art, long live animation, long live people having sustainable jobs! 😍 🤗 😎
