We know that each degree warmer we allow our Earth to be, the greater the risks. Our greatest challenge is human will. Do we recognize the risk? Will we do what it takes to avoid the consequences of climate change? A few months ago I had the tremendous privilege of participating in a panel at the STARMUS Festival to talk about this and more with the one and only Dr. Jane Goodall, Steven Chu, Israelian Garik, Tony Fadell, Chris Hadfield, Dexter Holland, Laurie Anderson and Pietro Barabaschi —an incredible experience! At the end of the panel, I summed up our talk with this - We have this brain that we can use. We are self-aware. We understand what we’re doing. We can look to the future and decide which future we want. But as Jane says, “It’s only when our clever brain and our human heart come together that we can really reach our full potential.” So at the end of the day, what do any of our problems come down to but a failure to love? If we look at it that way, is that not the most powerful force we have to work towards a better future?
