🌍🌿 Happy World Microbiome Day 2024! 🌿🌍
Today, we celebrate the intricate and incredible world of microbiomes—the unseen communities of microorganisms that play a crucial role in human health. At VCLS, we are proud to be at the forefront of advancing microbiome research and development for the benefits of patients. Our team of microbiome experts Clara Desvignes, Pauline Lestringant, PhD, Cecile Rousseau, PhD, Olaperi Aghadiuno, Sai Nirupama, Lionel Mavoungou, PhD, Arnaud Beurdeley is committed to ensuring HealthTech innovation succeed in every step of their development journey, from early-stage research to regulatory approval and market launch.
🌟 On this Microbiome Day, we extend our gratitude to our partners Pharmabiotic Research Institute (PRI), Medicon Valley Alliance, clients, and the scientific community for their relentless efforts in pushing the boundaries of microbiome science. Many achievements have been made by the community of microbiome in the past few months. To name a few:
👉 The European Parliament approved the new Regulation on standards of quality and safety for substances of human origin (SoHO) intended for human application.
👉 A new general chapter on Phage therapy medicinal products (5.31) was adopted by the European Pharmacopoeia Commission.
👉 Vedanta Biosciences, Inc., a company that is developing a bacterial consortium candidate for the prevention of recurrent C. difficile infection (rCDI) enrolled the first patient in the global Phase 3 RESTORATiVE303 clinical study.
👉 Ferring Pharmaceuticals and PharmaBiome AG entered into a new microbiome R&D collaboration and exclusive licensing agreement.
Seres Therapeutics, a leading microbiome therapeutics company who obtained the first #FDA approval for an orally administered microbiome therapeutic to prevent recurrence of CDI in adults, announced that it has entered into a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Nestlé Health Science for the sale of Seres’ VOWST assets.
🙌 Join us in celebrating World Microbiome Day 2024! 🙌 Together let’s share how important microbes are for the health of humans, animals, plants, oceans and the entire planet.
