Today, on #WorldFoodDay, we join the international community in celebrating the recognition of everyone right to food. 🍝 Climate change, geopolitical instability and food supply chain disruptions severely expose almost 800 million people to hunger. It is time to rethink how to ensure safe, nutritious and healthy #food for current and future generations. #Biotechnology can positively impact and transform our food system, producing essential nutrients for healthy and affordable food, while also reducing environmental footprint. 🍏 🖇️ Read more about the innovative #biotech solutions for food security in the blog post by Emma Ziche at: https://lnkd.in/eKe-P3S2

Biotechnology enables the transformation of many raw materials into products. Its ability to convert feedstock like agricultural waste or industrial waste gas into value-added products, such as lactic acid or ethanol, is a game changer in the context of the EU's Green Transition and the #bioeconomy 🌱 EuropaBio developed a two-page informative paper to provide a snapshot on the topic of feedstock for #biomanufacturing. It explores different sustainable carbon sources, highlights challenges and opportunities, and presents examples of value-chains using precision fermentation or cell cultivation in the chemical, health and food sectors. ➡ Read the full paper and download it at: https://bit.ly/404BKCz

We are proud of joining our forces with Genopole and work together on the European project #APROVALS. Yesterday Francisco Castro Alves from EuropaBio - the European Association for Bioindustries participated to an Insightful kick-off meeting in Paris! The project aims to facilitate the deployment and integration of emerging technologies in the field of precision fermentation and cultivated meat.
📢 Genopole launches the European project #APROVALS for the deployment and integration of new technologies developed in cellular agriculture. The project kick-off took place today with project partners Cluster Campania Bioscience, EuropaBio - the European Association for Bioindustries, Irish Bioeconomy Foundation, PlanetBio, SmiLe Venture Hub, Vitagora, TEKNOLOGIAN TUTKIMUSKESKUS VTT OY, with the following objectives for the day: 〰️ Build a strong foundation for collaboration between partners in the APROVALS project. 〰️ Engage in collective reflection to define the sandbox framework and technological focus areas. 〰️ Establish a concrete roadmap for the first year, outlining steps for use case selection, virtual experimentation, and stakeholder engagement. Launched in September 2024 for a duration of 2.5 years and coordinated by Genopole, the APROVALS project aims to facilitate the deployment and integration of emerging technologies in the field of cellular agriculture by implementing a testing environment to support innovation actors throughout their product development process. 📎 Press release: https://lnkd.in/e7u6z2bM #cellularagriculture #Innovation #Europeanproject
