🎉 Congratulations! Our group leaders Anne Krug and Maria Colome Tatche @ Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München are part of the new EU-funded Yellow4FLAVI project, which is investigating the yellow fever vaccine. 💡Did you know? #Vaccines are currently the most effective weapon against these #viruses. However, there are just a few authorized vaccines on the market at present, some of which are suitable only for a subsection of the target population. People who are too old or sick, or who are pregnant, often cannot be vaccinated with them! The new EU-funded Yellow4FLAVI project mobilizes international experts to close knowledge gaps about the mechanism of action of the most effective vaccine currently available against the yellow fever #virus. The project has 13 partner institutions from seven countries and is being supported by the European Union (European Research Council (ERC) / European Commission) with funding of 8 million euros. ➡ Reade more in our newsarticle: https://lnkd.in/epQyq-BD #yellowfever #vaccination #eufunding #womeninscience Photo: Jan Greune

If a patient or family member cannot remember if the patient received influenza vaccine this season and no record is available, proceed with administering influenza vaccine, even if it might mean an extra dose is given. When a patient reports that they HAVE received influenza vaccine but does not have written documentation, ACIP states that in the specific case of influenza (and pneumococcal polysaccharide) vaccination, patient self-report of being vaccinated can be accepted as evidence of vaccination. You’ll find this answer, as well as other influenza vaccine Q&As, here: https://lnkd.in/eeWjuC_P #ImmunizeOrg #savelivesimmunize #flu #influenza #fightflu #flushotseason #vaccinessavelives #vaccinate

A flu vaccine is needed every year for two reasons. First, a person’s immune protection from vaccination declines over time, so an annual flu vaccine is needed for optimal protection. Second, because flu viruses are constantly changing, the composition of flu vaccines is reviewed annually, and vaccines are updated to protect against the viruses that research indicates will be most common during the upcoming flu season. For the best protection, everyone 6 months and older should get vaccinated annually.

It's not too late to get your flu shot! Flu cases will most likely peak in February, and getting vaccinated reduces the chance that you'll get a severe case of the flu or need to be hospitalized--and it reduces the chance that you'll transmit it to those around you. 📢 𝗠𝘆𝘁𝗵-𝗕𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 "𝗣𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀" 𝗩𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀! 💉 Many parents believe that a "painless" vaccine means their child won't experience any pain during vaccination. This is a myth! 😲 👉 Not all vaccines are 'painless'. This term primarily refers to the DPT vaccine, given at 6, 10, and 14 weeks of age, plus two booster doses. 🔍 Currently, two forms of the Pertussis vaccine are available: - Whole-cell Pertussis - Acellular Pertussis 💡 Whole-cell Pertussis vaccines can cause fever, pain, and swelling at the injection site for 2-3 days post-vaccination. This variant is available under the national immunisation schedule in government hospitals. ⚖️ Both variants have similar efficacy. Remember, apart from DPT, no other vaccines are considered "painless". #Vaccination #Parenting #ChildHealth #MythBusting #HealthAwareness

Vaccines protect us against serious and often deadly diseases by helping our body’s natural defense mechanism - the immune system - to fight them off. Each year, they prevent 4 million deaths from childhood vaccination alone, and it is estimated that another 50 million deaths could be prevented in the upcoming years. We believe that vaccines continue to have an incredible impact on global health as we urge continuous follow ups and vaccination. Here are 5 ways vaccines can save us from future threats. #TabukPharmaceuticals #Vaccines

Medvantx acknowledges National Influenza Vaccination Week! This important annual observance held in December serves as a timely reminder for individuals aged 6 months and older to get vaccinated against the #flu. Vaccination holds paramount importance, particularly for those who are more susceptible to serious flu-related complications, including pregnant individuals and young children. Every year, millions of people fall ill due to the flu, with thousands requiring hospitalization. Considering that flu viruses are constantly evolving and the effectiveness of vaccines diminishes over time, an annual flu vaccine is the most reliable method to reduce the risk of influenza infection. Let's take this call to action, and help us spread the word and encourage everyone to get their yearly flu vaccine. #NationalInfluenzaVaccinationWeek #NIVW #CDC #FluVaccine #PAP #AccessibillityforAll #CashPayprogram #FightFlu #Pharmacy
