Evolution of Aquablation 💧 Like all technologies there is a story behind why a technology was created, intention, initial goals, etc. and then there is the story of how it evolves and becomes better. My entire background in the field of science has stemmed from the idea that science is supposed to be retrospective and ask itself "Is there a better way?" It is the same question that #Aquablation asks the current market. With over 50,000 procedures done and transfusions rates dropping to 0.2% with the #evolution of focal bladder neck cautery it is clear the the therapy has evolved with the experience, knowledge, and comfortability with anatomy and vasculature our surgeons have and are sharing with the #urologic community. All of this brings us to the better outcomes we are seeing everyday and shorter hospital stays. This is how medicine is supposed to work; start with the intention to make the space better, look back and see what can be done differently for better outcomes, and be an advocate for change. 🚨A Common Food Dye Unlocks a Groundbreaking Discovery: Temporary Transparency of Skin and Muscles What if doctors could see inside your body—without any invasive procedures? 🤯 Stanford University researchers may have just brought this future closer to reality. They’ve discovered a way to temporarily transparent skin, muscles, and tissues using a common food dye. Tested on mice, this technique revealed internal organs and blood vessels in astonishing clarity. Once the dye is washed off, the skin returns to its natural state. Here’s what this breakthrough could mean for the future of healthcare: 👉Non-invasive diagnosis of internal injuries or tumors 👉Easier blood draws with visible veins 👉Monitoring internal organs without surgery “This could completely change how we diagnose and treat patients,” says Dr. Guosong Hong, lead researcher. Though still in its early stages, the potential for human applications is huge—this could revolutionize everything from medicine to scientific research. 🌟 Could this be the future of healthcare? This headline says it all! There continues to be downward pressure on physician compensation and this trend has the ability to impact the quality and availability of physicians. This becomes a pronounced problem as a high number of physicians approach retirement creating greater demand for providers to care for an aging population. Dr. Rogers works as neuroradiologist, but also did fellowship imaging guided surgery (interventional radiology) at Harvard. He got fat in 30’s and learned his way out. He was one of best medical students in USA in biochemistry and tries to understand pathophysiology. Has written a books about nutrition & study skills including “How to improve blood flow,” “Hot topics in nutrition,” “Straight A at Stanford & on to Harvard,” “How to raise IQ, & become a genius.” Author of multiple books about nutrition, reducing risk of disease, and study skills. Discovered almost all the major medical textbooks are 50-100 years out of date, and often, completely wrong. Secret desire #1 = to become a nutrition doctor, but can’t, because there’s no money in it. Secret desire #2 = to rewrite the major medical textbooks, but can’t, because there’s no money in it. The shocking truth is that most medical textbooks are essentially worthless, because they do no include nutrition, and most disease is caused by poor nutrition.

Deciding early to pursue a competitive specialty like neurosurgery can significantly enhance an applicant's chances of success. Early commitment allows focused preparation, ensuring desirable USMLE Step 1 scores, positive third-year clerkship evaluations, high-quality research with neurosurgical mentors, and regular interactions with neurosurgical faculty and residents. Even if you later choose a different specialty, the rigorous preparation will make you a strong candidate in any field. Conversely, setting lower ambitions initially may negatively impact your application to neurosurgery if you decide to pursue it later. Pursue your goals avidly to keep all options open. In our study "Adherence to Reporting Guidelines in Major Otolaryngology Publications," we assessed the compliance of otolaryngology research with reporting guidelines. We analyzed 1,140 original research articles from five leading otolaryngology journals published in 2021. Our findings revealed an average adherence rate of 16.8%. Specifically, observational studies, which comprised the majority, demonstrated a mere 4.9% adherence to the STROBE guidelines. Notably, JAMA Otolaryngology had the highest proportion of adherence at 46.9%. These results underscore the critical need for improved reporting standards to ensure the reproducibility and utility of research. https://lnkd.in/gs9aUNN6

Sonic Interaction Designer for Biomedical Applications, Ph.D. Candidate at the Technical University of Munich
The research on the use of #AcousticSignals in modern surgical procedures is getting more attentions than before, emerging as a promising alternative for enhanced outcomes. It is interesting that both academia and industry are increasingly focusing on this innovative and promissing path of research.
The concept of using acoustic emissions for enhancing minimally invasive procedures, introduced by SURAG Medical, is inspiring researchers worldwide. They are applying this exciting methodology in their domains and testing new areas of application. We are extremely happy to observe that now also the renowned Forschungsgruppe MITI of the Technische Universität München (School of Medicine and Health) has now adopted this approach and applied it to an acoustic trocar system. We are excited about the results and wish the team all the best for their future work on this topic. SURAG Medical is committed to supporting researchers from all disciplines in applying acoustic emissions to their domain. Feel free to reach out to us!
