Cognitive Rehabilitation (CR) is a therapeutic approach designed to improve cognitive functioning after a brain injury, including stroke. It's amazing to see the number of studies regarding new use cases for ultrasound. This one has to do with the brain. A team led by Dr. Park Joo Min used low-intensity low-frequency ultrasound to mimic brainwave patterns, which allowed them to activate and deactivate specific brain regions. This application of ultrasound could facilitate the learning of new motor skills to aid stroke survivors and individuals with motor impairments with rehabilitation.
