Women in Tech: The Revolution We Need👩💻🚀 The stats are staggering, but the opportunity is massive. As women in technology, we have the power to reshape this industry landscape and inspire the next generation. An equitable future demands our leadership. 🙋♀️ 💰 Companies with higher gender diversity on their executive teams are 21% more likely to outperform on profitability. 💡 Having women in leadership roles increases innovation revenue by 19%. 🏢 Yet women hold only 28% of leadership roles across the world, despite making up nearly half of the global workforce. 😔 In the tech industry, a mere 5% of leadership positions are held by women. I defied expectations from the start: coming from Central & Eastern Europe, speaking only a rare language like Hungarian, with no women in tech role models around me, to mention a few. 🚀🌌 Insights from an inspiring roundtable hosted yesterday evening at Cité de l'Espace on advancing women in STEM. With a critical engineering shortage in France and the EU, empowering women in these fields is essential. Context: • Only about 20-30% of France’s engineering grads are women. Meanwhile, a McKinsey report forecasts a tech talent shortfall of up to 3.9 million in the EU by 2027. McKinsey Report Insights: •Doubling the share of women in tech to about 45% could add nearly 4 million women by 2027, potentially boosting the GDP by up to €600 billion. Today, globally, women hold only 27.6% of tech-related jobs. On this International Day of Women and Girls in Science, we're proud to share that SMART's workforce is made up of 40% women. And at some levels of leadership, women outnumber men. Representation is critical in science, math, and technology fields so that we can all work towards equal and equitable access for women and girls to whatever careers they want. This year International Women's Day plays a significant role, as Citrus achieved a 50-50 workforce of both genders helping us as innovators make a real change in including & celebrating diversity. If you ask me, this milestone would count as a step ahead of women empowerment into being the change. Although this might not be the scenario if looked at from a general outlook where women drop out of tech roles by the age of 35 according to research by Mckinsey. Surprisingly the existing women in the tech field aged 45+ are more inclined to work in companies with over 10,000 employees, to add up to that women in tech leadership roles have dipped to 28%. Now multiple reasons on the platter serve this scenario like  - The persisting role of responsibilities juggling between personal and professional.  - Insular nature of the industry - Disproportionate amount of inequity, stress & burnout in the workplace. While we witness women taking on prominent roles in movies, the portrayal of women with genuine interest in technology still falls short. Maybe in the years to come we will be able to bridge the gap between 'computer literate' & 'computer scientist'.    Despite strides in real-world tech inclusivity, both organizational and societal levels continue to lack a normalized perception to have women in tech. My hope sustains for a future where women in technology are not just accepted but fully integrated and celebrated.

Last week, I was asked a profound question: "What is your greatest professional challenge?" In a world dominated by men, particularly in the technology realm, my response was clear – women are often overlooked and underestimated. It's disheartening that in this day and age, the perception of women as "weaklings" in technology still persists. I want to take a moment to challenge this notion and shine a spotlight on the incredible contributions of women in technology. We are not just capable; we are innovators, leaders, and engineers who can rival anyone in the field. It's time to break free from stereotypes and showcase the diversity of talent that exists among us. I believe in a future where companies and individuals recognize the value that women bring to the table without judgment. Let's celebrate the fact that women are not just equal to men in technology - we are trailblazers...pushing the boundaries of innovation beyond imagination. Imagine a world where gender doesn't determine capability. I want to emphasize that women can excel as engineers, leaders, and visionaries. We possess the skills, determination, and creativity to match anyone in the field. It's time to stand up, break free from societal expectations, and showcase the incredible contributions we can make. To all the amazing women out there: Own your narrative, embrace your skills, and let's continue proving that our capabilities are limitless. And to companies and individuals: It's time to acknowledge, appreciate, and invest in the incredible talent that women bring to the world of technology. Our next empowering speaker who will talk on the future of women empowerment in the era of digital transformation is Dr pavani kadiyala (h.c). Technology is creating new opportunities for women to participate in the workforce, gain access to education and healthcare, and connect with each other across borders. With the increasing availability of digital tools and platforms, women are now able to work remotely, start their own businesses, and access information and resources that were previously unavailable to them. In the years to come, we can expect to see more women taking advantage of digital platforms to pursue their goals and achieve greater economic independence. This will be especially true in developing countries where women have historically faced barriers to education and employment. Digital transformation will also enable more women to enter fields that have traditionally been dominated by men, such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). However, we must also be mindful of the potential downsides of digital transformation. Women may face new challenges in navigating online spaces that are often rife with harassment and discrimination. We must work to create safe and inclusive online environments where women can thrive and reach their full potential. Overall, the future of women empowerment in the era of digital transformation looks bright.
