Today is Cervical Cancer Elimination Day of Action! DID YOU KNOW? There have been recent changes to cervical screening in Australia. If you’re a woman or person with a cervix, you should do cervical screening every 5 years from the age of 25. The Australian Government is now sending reminders to screen via SMS? Register via the link so you get the reminder every 5 years https://lnkd.in/gzWC3Bqc. The test is now easier as you can choose to do the test yourself, or your doctor can do it for you. Cervical cancer is largely preventable. Early detection is key!💪💖 #CervicalCancerElimination #EndCervicalCancer #HealthForAll #TogetherWeCan

🩺 What Does a Pap Smear Reveal? A Pap smear isn't just for cervical cancer screening – it can also detect infections and inflammations. ⚠️ If your results come back positive, don’t panic! Positive results mean abnormal cells were found, but it does NOT confirm cervical cancer. Further investigations are essential. I am so proud and respectful of the intense detailed work that Taylor Hulahan put into this review on breast stroma. Ductal carcinoma in situ is a non obligatory pathway to cancer representing 25% of all breast diagnosis. There are no great approaches to identify who will progress to cancer and most women opt for partial to full mastectomies. We are working on non-invasive approaches and molecular pathology to identify who will actually progress to cancer; this represents a small summary of the work on NIH/NCI R21CA286287.
New Review!🦉 From #ductalcarcinomainsitu to invasive #breastcancer: the prognostic value of the extracellular microenvironment ----------- Ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) is a noninvasive breast disease that variably progresses to invasive breast cancer (IBC). Given the unpredictability of this progression, most DCIS patients are aggressively managed similar to IBC patients. In this review by Peggi M. Angel et al., extracellular microenvironment alterations occurring with the malignant transformation from DCIS to IBC are detailed. Not only do changes in collagen abundance, organization, and localization mediate the transition to IBC, but also the discrete post-translational regulation of collagen fibers is understood to promote invasion. 🎉 I am excited to announce that I have successfully completed the online course "Prevention and Early Diagnosis of Lower Anogenital Tract Cancer" offered by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). 💡 This e-module provided a comprehensive overview of the diagnostic procedures for vulvar, vaginal and anal cancers, enhancing my knowledge in this critical area. #ACOG #continuouslearning #LACTcancer

❌ MYTH: Endometrial cancer always comes back—even low-risk types. ✅ FACT: Low-risk endometrial cancer usually has a very low rate of recurrence and a high survival rate, as long as it is appropriately managed. Thank you to Dr. Majdi Imterat for explaining! #uterinecancer #endometrialcancermyths

Across Europe, FIT testing is a widely adopted as an effective screening tool for colorectal cancer in adults aged over 50, however, cases of colorectal cancer are rising in adults aged below 50 years. This paper discusses the effectiveness of FIT in people aged 40-49 and finds that FIT is a useful screening tool to identify younger adults with a high risk of advanced colorectal lesions. ▶️To read the paper: https://loom.ly/ZP0hnxA Contact the Mast FIT team: fit@mastgrp.com #bowelcancerscreening #FITtesting #cancerscreening
