Is robotic brain surgery closer than we think? For the first time, #Symani was used in a preclinical study to operate on brain tissue. Learn more about the possibility of expanding robotics into complex neurosurgical care: https://ow.ly/z5wO50SP5zT The Symani Surgical System is currently indicated for use in open free-flap surgery of the breast and extremities and open lymphatic surgery of the extremities. Refer to global indication information at https://ow.ly/KkjQ50SP5zS.

There is perhaps no greater potential application for microvascular surgery that exceeds what it could mean for delicate neurosurgical procedures that are performed on the brain or spine. The MMI Symani microsurgical tools may offer our best opportunity to treat things previously thought untreatable due to the small size of the structures involved. Here’s to new and exciting future applications for these microsurgical and robotic tools!

Really pleased & proud to have published the VOLCANO trial in Langenbeck's Archives of Surgery, showing that open console robotic surgery reduces surgeon ergonomic risk during major colorectal resection. This is the first randomised controlled trial of open console robotic ergonomics (using CMR Surgical's #Versius system) and the first RCT from our research group at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Hopefully first of many more to come... Read the paper here: https://lnkd.in/e3HVe22d Headline findings: 🚶♀️Lower ergonomic risk (physical strain) 🤯 Lower cognitive strain 🗣 No impact on team communication 👩⚕️ No impact on patient outcomes or op times

Surgeon's Insight: RoboticScope in Spine Surgery In a recent paper, Dr. Zefferino Rossini and his team from IRCCS Humanitas Research Hospital shared how they integrated the RoboticScope with Medtronic's Stealthstation S8 neuronavigation system for spine surgery. This combination enables the simultaneous transmission of images from both the RoboticScope and the neuronavigation system to the Head-Mounted Display, thanks to the RoboticScope's VideoIn function. The result? A new standard of precision, efficiency, and ergonomics in spinal surgery. Read the full article. #BHSTechnologies #RoboticScope #SurgicalInnovation #Neuronavigation #SpineSurgery
