🌍 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞: 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐓𝐒𝟒𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐬! 🇬🇷 On October 15-16, 2024, partners gathered at AKMI International in Athens for the first transnational partners meeting of our project under the framework of the Pact for Skills for Tourism (PacTS4ALL). 𝘒𝘦𝘺 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘥𝘦𝘥: ✅ Insightful visit to IEK AKMI's innovative training facilities: Starting with a study tour of IEK AKMI at the hospitality and tourism faculty, which showcased simulation laboratories, including fully equipped kitchens, a bar, and a hotel room. The unique pop-up restaurant, in collaboration with the comprehensive facilities, highlights AKMI's commitment to holistic training in the tourism and hospitality industry. ✅ Work Package Updates: We reviewed the status of various deliverables, including the LSP report due by the end of November and collaborative efforts to enhance coordination among skills groups across EU member states. ✅ Skills Partnerships: We discussed strategies for fostering collaboration between tourism businesses and the Large-Scale Skills Partnership. ✅ Tourism Talks: We are excited to be in the process of organizing a series of dynamic events for the Tourism Talks. These initiatives will not only foster ongoing engagement within the tourism sector but also enhance our visibility and collaboration among industry stakeholders. The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) is projecting a record-breaking year for Travel & Tourism in 2024, with the sector’s global economic contribution set to reach an all-time high of $11.1 trillion. According to the global tourism body’s 2024 Economic Impact Research (EIR), Travel & Tourism will contribute an additional $770BN over its previous record, generating an estimated one in every 10 dollars worldwide. As the sector grows and returns to pre-COVID levels it is important that the sector realises that it must look to reduce its carbon impact. It should also be to the fore in adopting new technology in order to become customer centric. The ST3ER programme has been introduced to assist the industry to achieve these dual goals.

Tartu County Development Association hosted Latvian partners from Biedrība "Jūras Zeme" regarding to the study trip in 1.-3. July 2024, within the framework of the Estonian-Latvian Interreg cooperation project "River Networks - Emajõe and Gauja cooperation networks". The aim of the study trip was to introduce our region's special features, developments, challenges and also share experiences and thoughts. In addition, the study visit provided an opportunity to meet representatives of local target groups, strengthen the cooperation network between river Emajõgi and river Gauja, and gather input for creating a joint strategy. During the study trip, they got to know the developments, networks, museums, tourist attractions and events related to river Emajõgi, lake Peipus and lake Võrtsjärv. Seminars and discussions were also held on the topics of the joint cooperation project. The guests were primarily tourism entrepreneurs related to the river Gauja, promoters of local life and members of the Biedrība "Jūras Zeme" activity group. The cooperation project "River Networks" has been financed by the Interreg Estonia-Latvia program 2021-2027 and its goal is the sustainable development of river Emajõgi and river Gauja watersheds through joint strategy, pilot projects, exchange of experiences and networking. As a practical application of the joint strategy, 8 pilot activities are developed and implemented. Project activities also include study trips to partner regions, involvement of foreign experts and interest groups through the formation of working groups and information exchange, trainings and communication.
