Book I would read 1462739 times- Lord of the Rings. Lord of the Rings is so amazingly epic it is impossible for someone to not like it once they’ve read it. Truly. I watched the movies first, and then the books, but I gotta tell you- reading the books was exhilarating. I’ve recommended both to several people and all those who’ve tried it thanked me profusely for bringing LOTR into their lives. Why LOTR is the epic it is: 1. The depth of world-building: Awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeee Everyone has a backstory, everything turns out to be connected and no plot holes in the story. 2. The characters: I LOVE them. So much realistic positivity and vibing, my lord… Aragorn, Sam, Gandalf, Faramir, Treebeard. No curse words, so respectful, so funny- my favorite people. 3. The story: Inspiring, epic, emotional, gripping. The situation is shit, the enemy cannot be fought. They can only defeat him by melting his ring in his volcano and going through a hellish journey. And these guys- despite how impossible it seems- pull it off, because that’s what good guys do. Someone the world desperately needs right now. This is an interesting collection of books. There are two Good Omens books - the original by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman plus the Script for the TV series, written by Neil Gaiman. There are two Sherlock Holmes Books - one is a collection of the original stories by Arthur Conan Doyle, the other is written by Anthony Horowitz. I was listening it on #Audible - I had to start it twice as - this book is not my typical Genre.. and in beginning it was trying to create some setup situation. But reason I listened/read it because I wanted to be patient to learn and understand things which let you lose concentration easily. And my effort was worth. This is story about few people in close vicinity, who are having extreme emotional challenges - something sentimental to them. It's way of storytelling about people - who try to achieve their dreams, which may be ordinary to others but they struggle to conquer it. The way it is described is how a young boy is trying to build something - thinking beyond his capabilities and how his mentor and friends helps to achieve it through gradual and continuous effort. It showcases importance of empathy in situations when things are difficult for others. It's about showing values to everyone - specially youngers and kids, who try to achieve things and make sense for worked around him - but may suffer of ridicules and failures. I later started imagining movie and it was easier for me to understand. And at the end, the boat was floating in river making a line, which was slowly disappearing.
