Ever stumble when someone asks, “What do you do?” If the answer is yes, here are three common mistakes to avoid and how to fix them! . . Mistake 1: Saying, “We do a bit of everything” While versatility is helpful, presenting yourself as a jack of all trades dilutes your brand. Here’s what to do instead: Focus on your core strength and specify the solution you provide. Highlighting one specific problem you solve makes your brand stand out. . . Mistake 2: Saying, “It’s complicated” This makes you sound unsure and can be seen as condescending. This response undermines your expertise, no matter how valuable your work is. Here’s what to do instead: Keep it simple by using layman’s terms. You can convey complexity without sounding complicated. . . Mistake 3: Rambling Without Structure Unstructured responses lead to confusion and boredom. Here’s what to do instead: Keep your response concise and structured. Briefly describe the frustration someone feels before buying your solution, followed by the results they will experience if they do business with you. This will make your listeners want to learn more! . . Save these tips to avoid making a bad first impression. 😩 "Mistakes are not juicy at all...😭 I feel so bad", said my friend in business, while weeping. ☔Making mistakes is part of the learning process as a business owner. To recognize our mistakes is the first important step. Someone described madness as "continuing to do the same thing and expecting a different result." ☔Coming to a point where we become aware of the mistakes we make is a huge blessing. That's where the lesson pops in. This is possible by recognizing the following set of indicators. 🌋Trying to do too much and making mistakes. 🌋Jumping from one failed idea to another without stopping to think. 🌋Trying to do too much too quickly and making mistakes. 🌋Over complicated marketing activities and messages. 🌋Not really being able to explain why someone should buy from us. 🌋Out-dated or weak brand identity and image. 🌋Relying on only one or two methods of generating leads. 🌋No plan - haphazard activities. ☔Just a tip of the iceberg because the list is long. If you've mentally ticked 'yes' to any of the above, then you're being honest to yourself. ☔By being aware of what doesn't work, one can start to move forward. It's not about how we make mistakes, but how we correct them, that defines us. ☔Daymond John said, "learn from as many mistakes and what not to do while your business is small. Don't be in such a hurry to grow your brand. Make sure you and the market can sustain any bumps that may occur down the road." ☔Share your thoughts.🙋🏽♀️ 💌DM me if you're interested in our services. Here’s a mind-blowing fact: 99.9% of your DNA is identical to everyone else’s. Our individuality rests on a mere .1% difference. You already have this .1% defining quality. It helps you stand out and be remembered, so you can wow your clients, ace the pitch, and consciously position yourself to deliver your most high-performing traits. When you position yourself in the best possible light, you can bask in your own glow, and find more opportunities to apply this in key moments—from late-night brainstorming sessions to morning breakfast meetings. Stand out by focusing on your differences. You do not have to be perfect at everything, but you do have to be extraordinary at something. Successful brands distinguish themselves from the competition, often with only a mere sliver of a competitive difference. Similarly, you must distill your little zone of genius into just a few words, summarizing your key benefits. In a distracted, competitive, and commoditized world, people don’t have time to read a wordy letter or sit through a drawn-out presentation. You’ve probably struggled in the past, trying to find the exact words to describe yourself. Most of us do. It’s easy to feel paralyzed when pressured to find the perfect words. To make it easy for you to communicate your highest and best value, I’ve given you the words and phrases to illustrate who you are, at your best, inside your Fascinate Profile. For a sneak peek, take the FREE version of the Fascinate® Test here: https://lnkd.in/e_HqQm3y. I’m not just telling you the words to use—I’m telling you how to tell THEM who you are.
