We’re quick to show gratitude to others. But how often do we turn that appreciation inward? Recently, I received an award for a two-day team-building program I conducted for a manufacturing company. This recognition felt different. I’ve received numerous accolades before, but I rarely shared them. I was always focused on the next goal, the “do more” mindset that kept me from pausing to celebrate my achievements. This time, I decided to change that. Here’s what I realized: “It’s tough to reach new goals if I don’t appreciate what I’ve already accomplished.” Self-appreciation isn’t just about boosting your ego—it’s about motivating yourself to keep moving forward. It’s about recognizing your efforts and building a foundation of self-love that drives you toward greater success. So many times we just consume small wins and move onto the next thing- pause, praise yourself, celebrate you. As a manager and a mentor I always tell people to share their successes regardless of how small or big, if you get recognition for a task completed- share it, for delivering a project- share it, for leading a meeting - share it… all the way to industry level awards, share them…… go home and tell your family of your wins and note them down for yourselves. I personally have a board I like to add a note to. We work so hard and we need to celebrate that work. So share with us. What have you achieved recently and how will you celebrate your wins?

Reminder: the winners are often the last ones standing. 🏆 It isn't always about being the best ALL the time. Whilst it's important to provide value, it's also important to show up consistently. Winners aren't one-hit-wonders, they're the ones who were able to show out regularly. Don't be discouraged by a lack of uptake, engagement or recognition. Why does every Oscar speech focus on the people who helped them get there, instead of the person accepting the award? It’s because high achievers recognize that they could never have done it on their own. This is why surrounding yourself with the right people is crucial. Does that mean you have to cut down on everyone who won’t help in accelerating your success in your life? Certainly not. Let them be in your life if you want to, but most importantly surround yourself with the right pack. Find new people who can hold your hand in your success journey. Find the right people who will have your back during tiring times. Find success-hungry people who will push you to do better. Find people who can tell you the hard truth.
