It’s National Women’s Health week, and we are staying focused on our commitment to the health of women of all ages. Concerning trends in breast cancer rates, particularly in younger women is spurring discussion about how our communities can stay ahead in the fight against cancer. A recent article in Radiology Business highlights a nearly 46% increase in breast cancer among 20-year-old women since the late 1980’s, which should be cause for vigilance of everyone. Why do you think women in their 20’s are seeing the largest increase in breast cancer diagnosis, and what are some steps we should be taking to ensure #EarlyDetection? Congratulations Gloria on being on this discuss! Patient navigation and support groups play a vital role in effective cancer control! Navigation services help patients overcome barriers, access quality care, and make informed decisions. Since last year, The ‘Breaking Bad News Consortium’ has been advocating for; Support groups to be created in all Cancer Centers! This is because our studies have shown that, these essential services need to be prioritized to: -Ensure provision of efficient & effective, emotional connection -Reduce isolation -Foster resilience. -Improve patient outcomes -Enhance quality of life -Reduce health disparities -Increase patient engagement I look forward to receiving the outcomes from your summit, that I pray will include, innovative initiatives to be implemented to support cancer patients, how we can better integrate navigation and support services, into healthcare systems! Let's work together to ensure no one faces cancer alone! Let's continue the conversation and drive meaningful change in cancer care! #CancerControl #PatientNavigation #SupportGroups #Oncology #HealthcareInnovation #PatientCenteredCare" #CancerAwareness #PatientEmpowerment #HealthEquity #OncologyNursing #CancerResearch #HealthcareAccess @AmericanCancerSociety @CancerSupportCommunity @NationalCancerInstitute @WHO @UnionForInternationalCancerControl

Did you know that it was Men’s Health Week last week?? A powerful week aimed at empowering men in the UK to prioritise their physical and mental well-being. This week we would like to encourage more men to make checking their chest, pecks, and the areas around them part of their monthly self-care routine as did you know that men can develop breast cancer too? It is a common misconception that only women can develop breast cancer. Whilst statistically, it is higher in women than men, cancer cells can also grow out of control and form tumours in men too so when you are next checking out your bits below please remember to give your bits above a little bit of extra love too. https://lnkd.in/gCW6xqRe #mengetbreastcancertoo #menshealthweek #menshealth #breastcancer #selfcheck #breastcancerawareness #awareness
