Here are some #CareSmarter tips to keep your skin safe this summer: • Seek shade, especially during peak sun hours (10 am - 4 pm). Think umbrellas, beach tents, or shady areas under trees. • Wear long-sleeved shirts and cover-ups. • Put on a hat! Wide-brimmed hats protect your face, ears, and neck. • Use broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher sunscreen generously and reapply every two hours, or more often if swimming or sweating. As you enjoy the sun this summer, it's crucial to protect yourself from harmful UV rays. Our very own Sukhjeet Batth, M.D., a radiation oncologist at cCARE Fresno recently shared tips on ABC 30 to keep you safe in the sun. Additionally, 28% don't believe suntans cause skin cancer, which can lead to dangerous consequences. Dr. Batth is seeing more young adults with non-melanoma skin cancer, the most common type in the country.
