The Blood Emergency Readiness Corps (BERC) was activated in response to blood inventory needs on Florida’s Gulf Coast following the impact of Hurricane Debby on the region’s blood supply. High winds and heavy rain caused widespread cancellation of blood drives and missed donation appointments across the Southeast region requiring rush shipments of blood. Bloodworks Northwest is on-call next week with BERC and prepared to assist as the Southeast recovers. One way local Bloodworks donors are helping now is through a shipment of 50 units to a blood center in Georgia where historic rainfall is expected. Schedule your appointment to support communities in need: 800-398-7888 or https://ow.ly/Snhx50SSyjS #BloodworksNW #DonateBlood #HurricaneDebby

Based in North Carolina, we are profoundly affected by the unprecedented destruction Hurricane Helene has brought to our western regions. Despite the valiant efforts of first responders, the National Guard, utility teams, and humanitarian workers, many of the most severely impacted areas remain isolated, lacking access to essentials like gas, food, water, electricity, and phone service. The devastation has also reached parts of Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida. Although our facilities were not damaged, it's likely we all know someone—be it a colleague, friend, family member, neighbor or client—who has been touched by this tragedy. In such times of crisis and hardship, deciding how best to offer support can be challenging. However, uniting in our efforts can create significant impact. We encourage you to consider supporting the recovery alongside Alcami by contributing to the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund. If you prefer to donate through an organization you're already familiar with and trust for their relief efforts, we suggest considering direct contributions to them or to established entities like the American Red Cross or Salvation Army. Let’s keep these communities close to our hearts and do everything within our power to assist them as they navigate this difficult journey. Hurricane Milton is projected to bring damaging winds and life-threatening storm surge to Florida. Here's how you can help: Federal employees and their families may face significant challenges in the aftermath of this storm. Following Hurricane Helene, FEEA is providing disaster relief grants to federal employees across six states, assisting with temporary lodging and storm-related damage. FEEA is again ready to provide support through our Disaster Relief Grants, helping feds cover the costs of temporary lodging, critical home repairs, and replacement mattresses. But we need your support! Back-to-back hurricanes will strain FEEA’s resources. Join us in bringing our #FedsHelpingFeds mission to life and to help federal employees impacted by both Hurricanes Helene and Milton. As we hear more from the news and our loved ones in the area about the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, we wanted to boost some donation links, for those who want to help provide crucial resources to those affected: - North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund: https://lnkd.in/eeWj-4CM - Manna Food Bank: https://lnkd.in/gNe36HRS - Racial Justice Coalition: https://lnkd.in/e6T5drTY - Asheville Survival Program Amazon wishlist: https://lnkd.in/e5BXmJJ5 We’re also watching Hurricane Milton draw closer to Florida, and are in touch with our friends and family there about their preparations. Many on the gulf coast are being told to evacuate. Those in the storm’s path can see which counties should evacuate here: https://lnkd.in/dWKCVyV, and call 800-729-3413 for evacuation assistance. You can donate to support relief efforts here: - Convoy of Hope: https://lnkd.in/exiYR6g9 - World Central Kitchen: https://lnkd.in/egv4r3mx Because we work with multiple companies in the greentech space, we think and talk a lot about climate. At times, the complex science and scale of climate change can be hard to wrap our heads around. Moments like this provide a stark reminder of the human cost. Our thoughts and love are with all those affected by these storms.

Over the past week, I've been closely monitoring Hurricane Milton’s trajectory, acutely aware of the devastating impact it may unleash. The images of families evacuating, preparing for the worst, and facing uncertainty are heart-wrenching. My thoughts are with those in Florida and Tampa, particularly those I know, as you navigate this challenging time. The emotional toll of leaving behind homes, livelihoods, and familiarity must be overwhelming. As you prioritize safety, please know you're not alone. I'm sending thoughts of resilience, hope, and support. Stay Safe, Florida!* To those affected: - Stay informed through reliable sources - Please follow evacuation orders - Prioritize self-care And to my network: - Let's come together to support relief efforts - Donate to reputable organizations preferably local ones that already have infrastructure in place - Offer words of encouragement to people that you know are going through this. It is always important. https://lnkd.in/gtqen7y9 #HurricaneMilton #FloridaStrong #StaySafe #SupportReliefEfforts

Team Rubicon Myth #4: It is best to donate after disaster strikes, when needs are known. Over 14 years of TR's existence, we've built a team of volunteers with skills and training critical to alleviating suffering after disaster strikes. As an example, when a hurricane strikes, we'll have to perform sawyer work, heavy equipment will be needed to move debris, and core operation training will remove soaked materials before mold sets in. The reality is ANY delay in funding extends the recovery and the challenges for those impacted. Like I used to say in my days as a Topgun instructor, "Speed is Life". This holds true for tornadoes, fires, floods, and hurricanes. Today Hurricane Beryl is projected to be a major hurricane - it's in the news - and it will likely have impact. Consider donating today to fuel Beryl and every mission that our 180 thousand volunteers tackle - I know Team Rubicon will be responding as we have all year. Beryl could be our 50th operation year-to-date. To donate, please visit teamrubiconusa.org/give #BuiltToServe #GSD #MakeHurricanePreparationsNow

Based in North Carolina, our hearts are heavy with the unprecedented destruction Hurricane Helene has brought to our western counties. The impact extends beyond our state lines into Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida—regions that have also faced significant damage. Although our facilities were not damaged, it's likely we all know someone—a colleague, friend, family member, neighbor or client—who has been touched by this tragedy. In light of such overwhelming adversity and hardship, finding the right way to help can seem daunting. However, by coming together in support we can create positive change. We encourage you to join us at Alcami in contributing to the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund as a step towards aiding our neighbors on their path to recovery. Alternatively, if you're already connected with a trusted non-profit known for their relief efforts or prefer organizations like the American Red Cross or Salvation Army for your contributions—please do so. The devastation caused by Hurricane Helene across the Southeast, with some of the most extensive destruction occurring in Western North Carolina, has left deep scars in our communities. As we keep the millions of those affected in our thoughts and prayers, we at BE&K Building Group are moved by their resilience and indomitable spirit. In response to the immediate need, BE&K has contributed to Samaritan's Purse an organization actively providing relief on the ground to those most impacted. Beyond financial aid, our offices and project teams are coming together and organizing supply drives to deliver essential goods to some of the hardest-hit areas. We also want to extend our deepest gratitude to the linemen, rescue teams, and utility workers tirelessly helping with recovery efforts. If you’re seeking a reputable organization where you can contribute, the following are good options: Samaritan’s Purse: https://hubs.la/Q02SbnKB0 American Red Cross: https://hubs.la/Q02SbmxY0 Convoy of Hope: https://hubs.la/Q02SbhQ40 Please join us in making a difference for those who need it most during this difficult time.💙 It's All About People. #HurricaneHelene #DisasterRelief
