I am thrilled that the new government are pushing forward on minimum standards for buildings - an about turn on the previous administrations decision to kick this into the long grass. Clearly detail is need and we also need the EPC Reform Consultation to ensure we have the best tools for the job. Lets get moving on combatting the worse impacts of climate change, eradicating fuel poverty and deaths resulting from cold and unhealthy homes, and improving our fuel security.

Clean energy brings vast economic benefits - new jobs, tax revenue, investment - to communities where it is deployed, but in many places those possibilities are being derailed by short-sighted policies. ACP is committed to advancing America’s clean energy future & helping communities realize all the benefits it can deliver. https://bit.ly/3SuSc9G

Two years ago today, when the #InflationReductionAct was signed into law, I celebrated it as a "historic milestone" that was "decades in the making." Now, with the implementation process deep underway, we can see how true that is. BCSE's #SustainableEnergy in America #2024Factbook, which we released in February, tracked market growth both in more mature #cleanenergy technologies and in previously slow-growing, emerging #decarbonization solutions. In 2023 alone, the IRA triggered market responses that include: - A record-shattering $303.3 billion in US #energy transition financing for clean energy technologies, including #renewableenergy, #electricvehicles, and power grid investment. - 42 GW of new renewable power-generating capacity added to the US grid, driven mainly by robust solar additions. - $123 billion in announced investments for North American #manufacturing facilities. This is the power of public-private partnerships at work. I'm thrilled to see the incredible clean energy transition progress that has been made in just the past few years - but there's more work to be done. The team at BCSE is working to guide the efficient implementation of these IRA policies and ensure a smooth path to clean energy deployment. I look forward to continue working with partners across the energy efficiency and clean energy sectors, as well as the Biden-Harris administration and Congress, to drive further progress on this historic legislation. Office of the NYS Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli Releases Economic and Policy Insights New York State’s Clean Energy Fund As part of its efforts to achieve its energy goals, New York State established the Clean Energy Fund (CEF) with financing by ratepayers to promote the development and use of clean energy sources. Between 2016 and 2032, the CEF is approved to collect $7.5 billion. Review of CEF supported programs indicates some have exceeded the goals set out by the New York State Public Service Commission (PSC), while others appear not to be on track to reach their 2025 targets. A strategic framework adopted by the PSC in 2023—intended to refocus CEF programs on more permanent building upgrades or replacement of fossil fueled building heating systems with electric heat pumps—has the potential to assist in winnowing less successful initiatives and moving the State towards achieving the goals of the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA).
