Understanding the People in Our Lives: Leaf People🍃🌿 Branch People 🎋 and Root People🌳 In our journey through life, we encounter many individuals who play different roles and leave varying degrees of impact. I recently came across a profound analogy that beautifully categorizes these people into three types: Leaf, Branch, and Root People. Leaf People 🍃: Leaf people are like leaves on a tree. They are there for a season, providing shade and beauty when the weather is favorable. However, when the winds of change blow, they easily detach and drift away. These are the acquaintances and casual connections in our lives—valuable for the moment, but not necessarily enduring. Branch People 🌿: Branch people offer more stability than leaves. They are strong and supportive, but can break under too much pressure. These individuals are friends or colleagues who stand by us in good times and challenging times. However, they have their limits and might not always be able to bear the weight of our struggles. Root People 🌱: Root people are the foundation of our lives. They are deeply embedded and provide essential support and nourishment, much like the roots of a tree. These are our closest confidants—family members, lifelong friends, and mentors who remain steadfast regardless of circumstances. Root people help us grow, stay grounded, and weather any storm. Understanding these categories helps us appreciate the unique roles different individuals play in our lives. It reminds us to cherish and nurture our root relationships, value the branches for their support, and appreciate the leaves for their transient beauty. Take a moment to reflect and express gratitude for each, recognizing their distinct contributions to your journey ❤️❤️

I just returned home this weekend from a big regional area meet in Pensacola and saw this. Wanted to share it as this is the beauty of cross country and how it would apply if we used that same spirit in our work and personal lives. These are not my words but as a 7+ year cross country mom, they very well could be. —- What if we lived life like we were all in a cross country meet? What if we watched other people and recognized that we're all just trying to get across the finish line? What if we understood that some people are running as hard as they can but battling illnesses, invisible injuries, and internal struggles? Every step is hard, but they're trying not to quit. What if we cheered for everyone even if they weren't on our team? What if we realized just finishing something, no matter how long it took us or how messy it seemed, was enough? In fact, it was a win. What if we used every race as an opportunity to learn more about ourselves and how we could use each other for support, inspiration, and help to reach our goals? What if we cheered loud for the winner, but even louder for the one who comes in after because they accomplished something great, too? In a world that tells us it's about me, me, me, what if we started living to support everyone brave enough to be in the race? What if we started treating our lives like we were all in the same cross country meet? What a beautiful world that would be. Love hard. Whitney Fleming Writes

I empower business and family leaders to live an intentional family life | Keynote Speaker | Workshop Facilitator | EOS Implementor | Wife, Mom, & Entrepreneur
Just like any other aspect of our lives, our relationships with our loved ones require consistent effort and dedication. We can't expect our family bonds to flourish if we only show up sporadically. Every single day presents an opportunity to strengthen our connections with those who matter most. Whether it's: Going for a walk. Sharing a meal together. Or having a heart-to-heart chat. These small but intentional moments can have a profound impact on our relationships. Now, I get it—life gets busy, and it's easy to let quality time with family slip through the cracks. But here's the truth bomb: We MAKE time for what truly matters. By prioritizing our loved ones and incorporating intentional habits into our daily routines, we create a solid foundation for a thriving family dynamic. So, ask yourself: Are you showing up for your family every single day, just like you show up for your work or other commitments? Because family is WORK, but it's the most rewarding work you'll ever do.

It's officially back to work time! Being able to provide a fellow mother with a professional caregiver for their little one to allow them concentrate on being a boss at work is quite literally my purpose on earth, and one that I cherish every day.

Definitely read this. Very powerful wisdom from Tim Brand
In this world, there are only two people I have the privilege of calling a son and daughter. Two. There are only two people who call me Dad. This is a gift from God. We all lead incredible businesses, communities, churches, and organizations. But do not let the urgent get in the way of the important. There is always another business deal to do. An employee to hire. A crisis to manage through. But, there is only a select few who can call you Mom or Dad. Husband or wife. Grandpa or Grandma. Make sure your calendar accurately reflects this value. On this Labor Day, take the day off and enjoy it with those you were created to lead and love. It is ok. The work will be there tomorrow. :)
