Very interesting market data, as always, from PwC in their "Mind the Gap" article, which looks at the level of entity-level PAI reporting under SFDR. It's a good sample of almost 2/3 of the management entities across nine key EU jurisdictions and we can see that less than 1/3 of those are PAI reporting (indeed less than 1/4 are reporting in a compliant manner). The issues with entity-level PAI reporting are clear: such statements provide little or no value for end investors given that they invest in *products* not managers. Added to which, there is significant diversity between managers, so comparisons between such disclosures would be meaningless or misleading in any event. It's possible that these may ultimately be scrapped due to the overlap between this element of SFDR and the CSRD (fingers crossed). The expectation gap in auditing refers to the difference between what the public perceives the role of auditors to be and what auditors actually do. This gap arises due to misunderstandings or unrealistic expectations about the responsibilities, limitations, and objectives of the auditor. In this new episode of the Mind the Gap series our participants Jonathan Bravo, Director of regulatory Affairs- IFRS Foundation, Begoña Navallas, Professor at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and Director of Masters in Auditing and Meghan C. Senior Equity Analyst Norges Bank Investment Management now explore the expectation gap and refer to better education and communication with stakeholders as ways to help bridge the gap by providing better understanding of the auditing process and its impact. Share your ideas or thoughts by leaving a comment, sharing 'Mind the Gap,' and joining the conversation. Watch the episode: https://mindthegap.watch/ #MindtheGap #PublicInterest
