Did you know that Bright Pink, an NGO focused on preventing breast and ovarian cancer in young women, founded Call Your Doctor Day in 2016? Bright Pink founded the holiday to encourage women to schedule their yearly well-women exams. If you’re a woman, this is a reminder to call your doctor to schedule your exam today! Even if you’re not, consider organizing an event and inviting a local doctor to speak about the importance of regular health check-ups.

As Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it is a crucial time to emphasize once more the importance of prevention. Breast cancer affects many lives - not only women - and staying informed about regular screenings and early detection can make a significant difference. The daily challenges of breast cancer can be substantial: many women face side effects from treatment that impact their ability to manage everyday activities, including work. On top of that, workplace discrimination and fear of judgment also persist, unfortunately. Let’s create supportive environments where women feel empowered to prioritize their health and access necessary resources. By focusing on prevention and providing support, we can make a meaningful difference #consea #breastcancer #breastcancerawarenessmonth #prevention #health

This day encourages us to stand together, promoting regular screenings and healthy lifestyles, while fostering open conversations about breast health. SOS_GA understands the unique challenges women, especially black women, face in health care. We believe that empowerment starts with knowledge and support. Let’s take this day to remind each other of the importance of self-care and community support. By sharing stories, resources, and love, we can inspire hope and resilience. Join us in spreading awareness and support. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of many.
