The Health + Care Transformation initiative I am leading at Scientific American seeks to build a global consortium of leaders committed to a paradigm shift in health care from a focus on disease to a focus on wellness and prevention. We are recruiting partners now, including thought leaders, changemakers, and funders who are committed to this change. The goal is to build a global network of networks to translate knowledge into action. The late Charlie Munger framed the challenge by saying, “show me the incentives and I will show you the outcomes.” Follow the money. Changing the financial incentives in health care are key to this transformation. Using economic power to drive needed changes. The Health + Care Transformation initiative is building the case for this paradigm shift based on an awareness of how to incentivize a new system of wellness and prevention for individuals, communities, and nations. We can democratize health for all people. This is truly possible because the will is there. #healthcare #innovation #wellness #healthcareeconomics

Our Scalable Drivers of Health Approaches Roundtable was formed to address the social, economic, and other non-clinical factors that influence health outcomes, prioritizing infrastructure and investment as key elements to scale effective solutions. Over the past year, our sessions have explored pivotal topics and leading initiatives, including insights into Medicaid innovation, strategies for forming and sustaining cross-sector partnerships, and the critical role of data in scaling solutions for health-related social needs. Fellows also delved into defining ROI and value creation in these efforts. Building on this momentum, we're excited to unveil the next chapter of our Roundtable. Introducing: Leading Coalitions for Healthy Communities This evolution highlights our commitment to fostering collaboration across sectors to tackle social and structural drivers of health outcomes. We aim to align investment strategies and leverage proven tactics from innovative partnerships.
