Happy HR Birthday to me ... 25 years ago! So much has changed in that time. Back then, we did not use email to communicate (it was around, but not used regularly). We used the phone, a lot, and also typed up memos and put them in little envelopes to send via DX! We did not have laptops, so never worked from home. We got our HR advice from a bunch of Croner Employment law books that sat on a shelf (mostly collecting dust). Updates would come in the post every year with changes. We were called "personnel" rather than HR. Wellbeing, employee Xperience and Diversity and Inclusion were not discussed. We wore suits to work!
We are celebrating at HR Delivered this morning as our Founder Helen clocks up a massive 25 years in HR. Her career began after returning from a year working as a holiday rep in Spain after her friend mentioned that "there was a job going at their place". Up until then she had never really considered HR as an option, but seems to have found her space by chance. And we are glad she did!

Just before the weekend: Premium Plus appreciation post incoming Ever since I joined the company 3,5 years ago I could feel they were putting in the effort to create more than just a bunch of employees. Everyone is screened not only on what they already know but also on who they are, what they can become, and what they bring to the table. Both professionally and as a person. I was employee number 7 and this week we welcomed Rafael Duarte, number 30. Yet the company hasn't changed a bit. If anything, there was an even bigger focus on people. Our onboarding process, a week at HQ in Belgium, is kind of unique because you get to know the team in a formal and non-formal way. It is the best way to immerse new joiners immediately in our culture. All of this focus on people and culture (shoutout to Ana Luísa Santos) makes P+ probably the best company I could work for. The trust, freedom, and personal approach are things I value, and the fact that HQ is just a bike ride away is of course a big plus (much like the flag of Switzerland). To others, we might sometimes look like a disorganized bunch with too many parties, too many branded sweaters, and too many selfies but all of this is essential to us 😎 It wouldn't be Premium Plus without it. So, thanks to selfie king Kurt Pinoy and Thomas D'Hoe 🎯 for putting your faith in me some years ago, thanks Thomas Verschoren for introducing me, and a big thanks to the whole team for being who they are and being a part of Premium Plus' DNA. #premiumplus
