Earlier this month marked my 2-year anniversary at TravelPerk 🎉, and what an incredible journey it has been! In this short time, we've achieved so much, and I couldn't be happier or more excited about what's to come in the next 2 years 🚀 Amongst 100s of key learnings, one stands out the most ⛔ Company culture can’t be implemented ⛔ There isn’t an API integration for it, nor is there a magic ping pong table to cultivate it. A pizza party won’t create it, and a diamond/president club won’t foster it. Company culture is simply people. If you can’t see that, you’re looking in the wrong place. TravelPerk never 'implemented' its culture; there wasn’t an on/off switch or a culture go-live party. Instead, TravelPerk understood early on that their culture was already present within certain people, in the form of values 🗣️. Our mission was to find and hire these individuals and then create an environment where those values could shine and flourish. 🌟 Our values aren’t just a set of slogans we put on mugs, shout about in all-hands meetings, or print on T-shirts. They manifest in the everyday actions of every single employee at TravelPerk and drive every decision we make. Company culture can’t be implemented because it is the sum of organic, value-driven actions 🤝 Although these organic value-driven actions are everywhere in TravelPerk i'd like to especially highlight and shoutout the amazing South and Central European team! representing Iberia, France, Benelux, & the Nordics. None of this success, happiness, and vibrant culture would be possible without you 🫵! So, Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey! Today is my two year work anniversary at Tempo Software! 🎉 Here are some lessons I've learnt: - Company culture is an individual effort. - There's no need to rush a decision or reply. - Find low hanging fruits, and fulfil them quickly. - Stakeholder relationships matter. Befriend everyone. - Showing what was done is as important as doing the work. - Boundaries are important to not be pulled in every direction. - Try not to stress too much. The bad times blow over quickly. - Working with smart, conscientious people makes work easy. - To not get seen as purely tactical communicate strategy too. Tempo does $100m+ ARR, and last year I was promoted to own the product marketing for our SaaS division and products! It's great to work on award-winning products, and an overall winning company. I've learnt a lot working here, and appreciate the amazing culture we have. Here's to many more years! For now, I celebrate. 🤝

🎉 Today marks my 9 year anniversary at Coda! And yes, I’m still grinning from ear to ear every day. So many reasons have kept me loving my job all these years... 1. 🤓 Shishir has always been the best boss, regularly throwing me into new challenges and being a terrific mentor and friend along the way. 2. 👷🏽♂️I get to be in the trenches daily with the most fun, kick-ass Operations team.  3. 💪 Our leadership team is so mission-oriented and selfless. 4. 🤩 The company is packed full of Codans who are brilliant and thoughtful! 5. 📄 The product! We've built such an incredible, dynamic, and useful product, and I love getting it out into the world. Since it feels like just yesterday we were searching for our first users, I’m always delighted when someone tells me how much they love using Coda! Most of my career has been concentrated in 2 companies - 5 years at Box, and 9 at Coda. Early in my career, I was lucky to get to learn from Aaron and Dylan at Box - total visionaries. And similar to Coda, Box was filled with exceptional individuals who made work a blast. My main career north star: find a place where you continuously learn from smart, kind people, and do your best to be helpful. I can’t argue that my priorities and approach are the best for everyone, especially in a time when it seems cool to change jobs frequently, but I’ve always felt proud of making a deep impact in a small number of environments, and in the process, making much closer connections with the people building those companies. Here’s to many more fun years at Coda!

8-Year Anniversary: What Keeps Me Going? In couple of weeks, I will celebrate my eight-year anniversary with Customertimes. This time, I wanted to reflect on my key insights, what I have learned over this period, and focus on what really keeps me going. Throughout these years, I have remained dynamic. I have changed locations three times, worked on four technology platforms, held five different roles, and collaborated on dozens of projects with hundreds of amazing professionals across various industries and verticals. Key Skills I Have Mastered Although it sounds generic, each skill has a story behind it and has benefited me in different ways: - Never give up when you believe you’re right; learn to say "no," and stay committed to your pursuits. - Stress and time management. - Avoid passive aggression; communicate directly and make concise statements. - Take the first step. It may feel unknown and scary, but it gets easier with time. Things I Am Proud Of - Seizing opportunities and taking calculated risks, even when I felt unprepared. That’s how I changed locations, roles, and ultimately found growth. - Not being afraid to do things I considered embarrassing, such as making cold calls, approaching strangers, and asking simple questions. - Giving my best effort, even when it seems impossible. What Keeps Me Going - Constant change; I never feel bored—there's always something new. - The ability to prioritize family with a remote work format and flexible hours. - A challenging environment. When you want to compete, it shows you care. - Continuous learning and staying curious.

Happy 1st Work Anniversary, Malik Usama Saif! 🎉💼 The office wouldn't be the same without him! His delicious home-cooked lunches (that beef karahi is legendary!), infectious laugh, and playful banter make him a true gem. We love the friendly rivalry that goes on between BD, Admin, and HR - their joke wars are legendary keeping our office alive! Looks like OCloud has made Usama shift from green tea to chai, thanks to Asif's brewing skills! Who knew he'd become a tea lover? Usama is a go-to person when you need to discuss where to do the next team dinner, or where the menu is full of mutton. 🍖😅 But seriously Usama truly knows how to support people around him. Usama's desk has an aura to it. It features an unused LED screen and a new read every week. His neatly stacked notebooks with Shayari notes are a unique touch. His proudest achievement here was hosting the 2023 annual event, which everyone remembers fondly thanks to his lighthearted humor! Usama wants to block out distractions (mainly his best friend Asad A. Alvi, our admin) and conquer any task that comes his way. When it comes to colleagues, Usama is a true team player – "We always have each other's backs," he says, "and work is way more fun with good friends by your side." (he means his junior Ahad Ali on the left and senior Rehan Aslam on right). His mentor, Rehan Babar, inspires him with his calmness and strategic approach. Next year Usama wants to focus on learning how to close sales to unlock even more opportunities. His advice for future BDs facing challenges? A simple one – "If you are stuck somewhere at work, have some cake!" (yeah he likes sweets😁). Here's to many more years at OCloud Usama! ✨🚀

Who else is ready to tackle whatever this week throws our way? Well, here I am, celebrating my 18th work anniversary on this fine Tuesday, January 16th and if there's one thing I've learned in all these years, it's that surprises in the world of product management are as common as my mid-afternoon snack cravings. Just when you think you've got it all figured out, a curveball comes your way. Recently, I found myself smack in the middle of a crisis management sprint – a situation I certainly didn't plan for (I certainly would’ve chosen a different outfit had I known😆). But you know what? It's during these unplanned adventures that you discover the real MVPs: the team. As the legendary Bo Schembechler wisely puts it, "No man is more important than The Team. No coach is more important than The Team. The Team, The Team, The Team, and if we think that way, all of us, everything that you do, you take into consideration what effect does it have on my Team?" Working with an awesome network of teammates from various departments, we’ve tackled the challenges together and emerged stronger. This year SIMPLE celebrates its 30th anniversary and I have spent 1 of those 30 years with the company 🍾 After 5.5 years at BSH, I didn't think I would return to FMCG from the technology sector. But now I want to share with you my top three reasons why I love Simple. And no, it's not just the opportunity to take part in product tastings 🍷 - although testing wine and vacuum cleaners are two very different types of internal product testing 😃 1/ The cosmopolitan nature of the company - working with the best suppliers in the world and with many marketers who specialise in different regions and bring a piece of their country's culture with them. 2/ The company's resilience and crisis management - in a country where economic and political upheavals are constant and family businesses are almost non-existent, 30 years is a truly significant milestone. 3/ Developing the country's wine culture - it's not just about putting wine on the shelves. It includes our own media, an in-house marketing agency, and expertise in developing our own brands. I wish Simple many more milestones over the next 30 years, and I wish all my colleagues continued drive! 🥂

First 5-year Work Anniversary 💭 Looking back, I apparently thought it was a good idea to take a picture of the office door before going in on my first day at EBRD .   Luckily, nobody saw me doing it back then, and now I can use the photo in a long reflection post to mark my work anniversary.   I don't remember being asked where I saw myself in 5 years during the recruitment process, but here I am, 5 years later, reflecting on the journey so far.   According to the data I just pulled, over these years, I've had the privilege of coordinating over 100 advisory projects (and I've only recently realized that I hit this milestone). These projects have connected local Small and Medium enterprises (SMEs) with a diverse range of experts – from big names in consultancy to skilled freelancers. This experience has been about more than just numbers; it's been about fostering growth, innovation, and sustainable practices within the SME ecosystem. On a personal level, it has also been quite the experience working directly with such a rich pool of experts and business owners and being in the front row to see value being created.   Additionally, I've been given the opportunity to work on a variety of activities , including group projects, various trainings, cross-border initiatives, crisis response interventions, podcast partnerships, digital initiatives, and others.   Trying my best to avoid cheesiness (though I suspect I've already embraced it), I still want to mention my amazing colleagues in SME Finance and Development, our fitting department name. And give special thanks to Miroslav Stoyanov, EMBA, not just for hiring me into the team, but for consistently empowering and motivating me to be an integral part of it over the past 5 years   Conclusion (in case someone had the patience to reach this part) 💬   It's sometimes hard to describe my job without giving a 10-15 minute pitch, and my friends joke that, in short, I give money away for a living.   The thing is, it's not just money, it's value, and it's been great. If I write a similar post in 5 years, I hope those years will be just as fulfilling – another 5 years of creating value.

- "Farewell's and forward momentum: celebrating the legacy of departing Colleagues"👋 In the workplace, saying goodbye to colleagues we care about can be tough. We build strong connections with them, like a second family. When they leave, it feels like losing a friend. 😔💔 Their departure brings mixed feelings – sadness because we'll miss them, but also happiness for their new adventures. We remember the good times we shared and feel grateful for their impact on our lives. 🎉😊 Dealing with their leaving means accepting our feelings and finding closure. We can do this by talking about it or organizing a goodbye get-together. Keeping in touch afterwards through messages or video calls helps too. 📱💬 In the end, saying goodbye is a reminder of the special bond we had. Though it's hard, it also opens the door to new beginnings. So here's to our departing colleagues – may they find success, and may we always treasure the memories we made together. 🌟👏

3 years in a -work anniversary has never felt so good! Happy third work anniversary to me! A work anniversary has never meant that much to me. But 3 years since founding House of Kitch, doing what I believe in and making it work, feels very special. Thanks to all of you who have believed in me, trusted me, shared with me, and been part of making it real Parexel PAREXEL International (India) Private Ltd It's hard to believe that 3 years have gone by already! Three beautiful and fulfilling years during which I have expanded my horizons both professionally and personally. Three years of gratitude for being part of this amazing company! Top 3 learnings: 1. You are the author of your own destiny:- I have been stretched more than ever before, and the uncertainty and ambiguity can be a major challenge. I have found that structuring my business around my purpose and staying true to that helps me get through the ambiguity. Some days it feels like this, but knowing why I am doing what I am doing is my compass, and it helps to bring others with me. 2.Doing what you believe in is exhilarating and exhausting at the same time:- They say that doing what you believe in doesn’t feel like work – and it doesn’t. But it can be really intense as everything matters so much more. The work that we do takes me on such intense journeys, and the connections are really strong. There is something about purpose that transcends effort. The challenge is there is no clocking on and clocking off, it’s a constant journey. The important thing is having people that I value on the journey with me. 3.Healthy body + healthy mind = healthy ideas:- You have to keep balance, mentally and physically – for me these two things are intertwined. When you are working continuously , it can be really hard to feel ok about breaking away from your desk to get some exercise or go outside for a walk. If you want to set your mind free, you really have to set yourself free first. Creativity comes from many different places – you usually have to leave your desk to find it. And then there are the times when you just need to switch off, and that takes its own discipline – one that I am still working on. Greatful! Dr. Shivani Bhola
