I generally find the whole 'decolonisation' of this that and the other - the curriculum, museums - offensive. It's got nothing to do with the interests or views of the once colonised. It's a thing for the usual self-hating elites in the 'West'. Indeed, some of the best attacks on the modern academic notion of 'decolonisation' have come from the once colonised wondering why our own elites seem to have lost their minds - and asking that they please don't bring such irrationalism to the once colonised as the latest example actually of colonialism. So far so good. But when you see museums and educationists in Wales begin to beat themselves up for Wales's rather minor part in Empire and indeed in slavery , I feel the need as a Welsh historian who speaks Welsh but is anti-nationalist, to point out a) we were probably the first colony of the Anglo-Norman realm (though of course the Normans previously conquered England) and b) to destroy Welsh pride in its own minority-nation journey through 'decolonisation' ideology is to attack the very cultural and historical basis of Welsh nationhood and its need as it builds its devolved state to have what every other such nation that has been through this process has developed - a sense of the heroic struggle for national self assertion against oppression. For that minority to then be accused of oppression itself - on pretty unconvincing grounds - undermines national self confidence and indeed the legitimacy of the journey to self government. And I say all this as someone who opposed this political journey to self-government whereas many pushing the 'decolonise' button in Wales I know were strongly for it. I think I make more sense. I am certainly more patriotic. Have a look at this amateur doco: the Normans were absolute bastards to the Welsh and almost destroyed the incipient nation. The process of castle-isation was one of their main tools plus maximum cruelty and violence. Hence my own ambivalence about those beautiful 'Welsh' castles. I sometimes feel they should be knocked down and the stones used for public housing. That feels like real 'decolonisation'. But then I remember: they are a part of the real complex and contradictory history of all nations - and we need the tourist money! #decolonization David Martin Jones

This is a time to raise awareness about the danger of racism, slavery and biased prejudice. Or, as he white-splaind, "You are not black if you do not vote for me". Biden, in the past, white-splained again that Latinos in America resist vaccinations because “they’re worried that they’ll be vaccinated and deported.” That statement made the insane assumption that all Latinos present in this country are illegal aliens subject to expulsion. He has a long long history of getting away with racist remarks. What kind of person makes racist remarks all the time...a racist or non-racist????
