Workforce development expert Parminder K. Jassal (ਪਰਮਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ) says technology shifts have a direct bearing on #robotics and #engineering job market trends. Her company, Unmudl Skills-to-Jobs Marketplace, connects learners and employers via a network of community colleges. The question on whether a trade program focusing on a practical field such as mechatronics can be equated to a four-year degree program remains open-ended. Dr. Jassal's opinion: “Of course, I believe degrees have their value, or I wouldn’t have one. But how does that relate to the job market? And how do you get the stepping stones built so that you can go ahead and start with a job now in a matter of 26 weeks, rather than waiting until getting educated for four years and then going, ‘Hmm! That wasn’t exactly what I wanted to do’.” Lots of engineering jobs tips in this video. Machine Design #mechatronics #skillstraining #trades

Do you need an advanced degree to work in Robotics? With the rise of online education and rapid changes in tech careers, many believe and advertise that having a formal advanced training is not necessary for many jobs in robotics. I have worked at multiple robotic companies in the past from startups to larger companies and currently a research institution. I have seen no evidence that supports this claim. There are always exceptions, but in general the vast majority of engineers/scientists who work on the core algorithms (e.g. planning, control, perception, etc.) have at least a masters with multiple years of experience or a PhD for research roles. Does that mean you can’t get into robotics without this kind of training? No, there are many roles in mechanical design and software engineering / infrastructure that may not require it. So it really depends on what you want to do. The truth is that credential matters in the real world. Credential without skill will not cut it, but you often need both to get into top places and do interesting work. Again, there are always exceptions, but in general I found this to be the case across the industry. #robotics #research #graduateschool #phd

Engineering = making/designing things MS in engineering => one who has mastered the skills to make things… Unfortunately in India, mostly ppl think engineering = exams… If you want to master something… go to the place/person who has mastered that already… One cant: just go to a place and become a master… The first place to go to is your mind: do you like engineering… do you like making things?…have you made some thing so far?… What do you like to make? rockets? tablets? tables? watches? does it make you happy? By the way, engineering isn’t the only way to lead a happy life… what else have you explored? Let us say you like to make rockets… go to a place where such opportunities exist…let us say you want to make movies… go to a place where such opportunities are possible… Electrical Engg is not a small area… there are millions of products you can think of! Any deeper classification like ICs? Instruments? medical devices? Control equipment? Robotics? automobile? power? audio ?Communication?… Find out which lab(s) does work related your interests … You will need lots of lab work to master it….See if they publish reports of their works? Any well known engineers/scientists/professors work there? What are your financial constraints? do you need funding? You need to send money home? Like sachin is famous for cricket… for every area there will be famous ppl/labs/centers/depts… go to such centers? But start at home first… Go build/make something…! There are opportunities always and everywhere… you may not see them… miss them ?… not ready for them?… may be not interested in them?… Key: observe successful ppl… learn how to pick up the right opportunities… Best wishes… #electricalengineering #mastersdegree #vlsidesign #careerguidance #engineer #innovation #motivationmonday #ece

-2022 Memories- My first project in the engineering field when i was a trainee and that was a real turning point⚙️. I led the development of an advanced Elastic Measuring Machine, designed to measure elastics with precision. The goal was to create a system capable of measuring various elastic lengths with a minimum 1% 📏tolerance, greatly improving handling and maintenance🔧. This challenging project pushed me technically and shaped my approach to innovative engineering solutions. 🚀 #EngineeringJourney #Automation #Innovation #HMI #ProjectManagement #PLC #Electronics #wiring #conceptdesign
