We are thrilled to announce that, thanks to the unwavering support of our champions in the Massachusetts Senate and House of Representatives, $150,000 has been allocated in the FY2025 state budget to support Boston Debate League’s programming for Boston Public Schools students and professional development for educators. #BDL cultivates learning communities both in and outside of classrooms where student leadership and collaboration are applied to real-world issues. Our core programs - After-School Debate, Debate-Inspired Classrooms, and Resolved - provide unique learning opportunities that develop students into critical thinkers ready for college, career, and engagement in the world. We are deeply #grateful to every legislator, staffer, and supporter who believes in the power of the BDL model and the value of investing in our impact. Special thanks to House Ways & Means Chair Aaron Michlewitz, House Speaker Ronald Mariano, Senate President Karen Spilka, Representative Adrian Madaro, Senate Ways & Means Chair Michael J. Rodrigues, and Senator Lydia Edwards.
We love BDL and all you do for our kids!
