❗ 𝟯𝗗 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀❗ Stratasys and Ricoh USA, Inc. have launched a clinical study to assess the effectiveness of 3D printed models for preoperative planning and tumour excision in orthopaedic oncology. This study will compare the outcomes of surgeries using patient-specific 3D printed models versus those relying on CT or MRI imaging alone. The goal is to showcase improvements in surgical precision, reduced blood loss, shorter operating times, and lower risk of complications. With life-size anatomical replicas, doctors can simulate procedures more accurately, enhancing surgical outcomes and patient recovery. Medical experts believe 3D modelling can revolutionise surgical preparation and patient education. #3DPrinting #Preoperative #Healthcare

#personalization is one of the evolving frontiers of #totalkneereplacement in an attempt to raise the bar on the "Forgotten Knee." We now offer a personalized care pathway through navigation. Many are a moving toward patient-specific implant alignment and our friends here who have embraced KA and other alignment techniques have reported significant enthusiasm based on their results. Stefano Bini and others have brought us the Personalized Arthroplasty Society which seeks to broaden our understanding and challenge the dogma of conventional TKA. Now restor3d will provide the next-generation, patient-specific implants to with improvements in additive manufacturing techniques and a progressive understanding variation in femoral and tibial anatomy and surface geometry. Stay tuned to the future where many of these ideas coaslesce into a truly personalized knee replacement journey. #jointreplacement #orthopedicsurgery

Independent research on 3D printed casts conducted by St. Luke's University Health Network was recently presented at the 79th annual meeting of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH). This important study highlights the advancements in 3D printed cast technology, demonstrating their effectiveness in patient care. St. Luke's, an ActivArmor provider, is at the forefront of introducing this innovative casting solution, with the research emphasizing its benefits for both surgeons and patients alike. "On-Site 3D-Printed Casts Improve Function and Satisfaction in Stable Pediatric Distal Third Forearm Fractures." The study concluded: • ActivArmor 3D printed casts outperformed traditional casts in durability, ability to shower or swim, playing sports, and participation in planned family vacations. • ActivArmor 3D printed casts offer a new and safe alternative to traditional casts in presumably stable pediatric distal radius or distal third forearm fractures and are associated with improved function and satisfaction by children and parents during periods of immobilization.
