Awesome post, Alex Ashenden and you ask a really important question. I'm of the firm belief that the approach taken by the VAST MAJORITY of #recruitrers, #talentacquisition, and even brave #hiringmanagers doing their own #hiring, does NOT attract top #talent - i.e. posting a #jobadvert and fielding responses. Why? For a few reasons but for me, the most important is this: In the hundreds, if not thousands, of applications typically received via this method (and let's be honest, a very small % are read), top talent is being missed. Could there be any other logical conclusion? If you're a #leader, a #businessowner, #executive, #hiringmanager, are you really comfortable with this approach? Knowing that you may not be accessing the very best out there because of the #hiring methods being utilised by your recruitment team/partner? For companies truly interested in accessing #toptalent, or better, the RIGHT #talent for that business, you MUST review your hiring methods and capabilities for it is these, and not the market (or other external factors), that determine the quality of people you onboard.
