GenAI still relies on human intelligence - for now… Executive leadership teams are suffering buyers remorse as they lack measurable impact from current AI investments. $222 worthof Chicken McNuggets? Eating rocks? Yes, GenAI is imperfect. Is it because of poor planning, implementation, and integration? Potentially under-rating quality of human interactions? Not everywhere or everything - but certainly opportunities ahead for AI.

🎧 AI as the "steam engine of the mind", in the words of Reid Hoffman, ushering in a "cognitive industrial revolution". This analogy captures the transformative power of AI on both individual and collective levels. 🧠 IQ is crucial for individual tasks, but EQ is essential for team success. In a future filled with AI agents, balancing both will be key. 💡 AI will grant us "superpowers" in language-based tasks—communication, reasoning, analysis, and more. The real question isn't if AI will impact our work and lives, but how and when. #AI #Innovation #FutureOfWork #Teamwork #GenerativeAI

AI ALONE ISN"T A COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE - rather enjoyed this spicy podcast from Harvard Business Review and their #Strategy podcast. In simple terms - and I adore this common sense - #AI alone is not a competitive advantage for most organizations. It's an ENABLER or ACCELERANT of your existing competitive advantage, especially if you're using platforms built on public LLM's. And even building a closed LLM won't automatically give you a brand new competitive advantage....if you don't already have one. The secret, not surprisingly, comes down to your organization's ability to create, harness and deploy the multiple AI experiments happening across the enterprise. That's a #culture skill and not a #technology competency. Very interested in the POV of Kevin Krossing Bruce McTague Ashley Konson Bilal Jaffery Kevin Keohane https://lnkd.in/gsnD9Aph

Overhyped perhaps - but investors can't ignore AI! Is AI overhyped? Of course it is, but there are still plenty of opportunities for investors as Investor's Champion's technology guri considers here, with three sectors set to be big winners. #investing #technology #artificialintelligence #ai https://lnkd.in/eYZsUW4w

Engaging interview with Brad Smith, Vice Chair and President at Microsoft about the AI revolution and approaching it with a cautiously optimistic attitude. Some points that really stood out to me: -Roughly 3 billion people don't have access to the internet and 700 million people don't have access to electricity Who do we leave behind when we move forward with the next technical revolution? How do we ensure the most vulnerable people reap the benefits of AI when they are not involved in the conversation? - The effect of cars on society in relation to AI's future effects. Once people had the opportunity to drive further distances, the ties within small towns weakened. We know what we will gain with AI, but what will we lose? We have to push back against the technology to engage with each other, especially in difficult conversations. -Belief in creativity Smith says he doesn't want a world where you go to the beach every day because day 500 at the beach is never as fun as day 3 at the beach. I agree to a certain extent. I get nervous when I hear claims that AI will be useful for people who are good at reading and writing but bad at coding, because their AI assistant can code for them. One could see this one of two ways - AI helps the person achieve goals they previously could never ascend to without AI - or - AI drains the creativity that comes with learning a difficult task or collaborating with people with different skill sets. AI is a vast, seemingly bottomless pit of speculation. I think it's important to have conversations that we might assume we know how the other feels. Something the industrial revolution lacked was intentionality. We should learn from the past.
