Hiring managers are the backbone of any organization's talent acquisition process. However if they are too busy to talk to potential candidates, it might be time to re-evaluate the hiring process. According to recent advice I received, if a hiring manager is never available, its time to close the job requisition. This may seem like a crazy concept but it holds all aspects of acquiring talent accountable. If a hiring manager is too busy to hire and orient a new employee the candidate experience could suffer, leading to a negative impact on the organizations reputation.
