I've worked in F1 for over 20 years and I still get asked three questions more than any others: 1) "Do you get to drive the cars?"; 2) "What's Lewis Hamilton REALLY like?"; and 3) "So what do you actually do during the winter when there's no racing?" As the best possible answer to the final question, this new podcast goes behind the scenes of our team and our "frenemies" at Williams to bring to life the monumental quantity of work that goes into bringing a brand new car to the track each season. It's a tale of sky-high ambition, constant firefighting, weekend-free working weeks and much more; but most of all, it's a tale of the huge levels of passion, commitment and ingenuity that go into every single machine on the grid. Check it out at all the usual places you download your podcasts! PS: The answer to 1) is "no", for 2) it's "a thoroughly decent and humble human who also happens to be probably the greatest ever driver of a Formula One car that our sport has seen". https://lnkd.in/e6-BcvHv
looking forward to listening to this episode Bradley Lord what about "Can you get me a pass for Monza or Silverstone? My son would love to go" 🤣
Answer to no.3….. we all take nearly 3 months off. 👀😂
Must be annoying if people constantly ask for signed stuff too? PS could you get me Bono's autograph 😂
Looking forward to listening to this! Loved our conversation about the business side of F1 last year and how the Mercedes team approaches the challenges you tackle every year with style.
Brilliant, Bradley - well said/written as always and, if I may say, F1 is richer for having you in the paddock… an unsung hero and a great team man. As for driving, I know from personal experience on the losing side that you are mean on the simulator/PC!
Bradley Lord you missed… how do I get into F1 and can you get me tickets!
Sounds like a fascinating podcast - will listen for sure ✔️
I think you would be wonderful in the car Bradley Lord. How can we make this happen?
I would have loved to work in an F1 team. But even though Hamilton is a good man and a spectacular driver, I cannot accept anyone being better than Senna. Of course, you can say, you have seen him work and drive but no! Apologies! F1 is no fun anymore since whichever car is faster, wins, drivers are just driving a complex machine. Credit to them for not making mistakes on their steering wheels with a thousand buttons. I would say, F1 cars, should either have the same power at the very least or give all a free hand. That will make it a driver's championship. I still cannot understand Mercedes losing to Red Bull. If you need Chassis help, I can send my Bruno Sacco designed cars or just call him to check your designs.
