The Redesign Group is proud to sponsor Nevada's Public Sector CyberSecurity Summit this Wednesday (4/3) in Reno, NV. This is a unique opportunity to meet with IT leaders across the state and share ideas to protect our citizens and harden defenses from external threats. Now, more than ever before, local/state/federal departments worldwide are being targeted for cyberattacks both domestically and abroad. Attackers have targeted power grids, telecommunication systems, water districts, tax revenue services, public safety services and more. We are excited to learn and share more on countermeasures to these efforts through Technology, People and Processes. #CyberAttacks #Ransomeware #SystemShutdowns #Phishing #Espionage #Defense #AirGap #ThreatDetectionResponse #REDESIGN #GovTech #StateandLocal Dell Technologies CrowdStrike Zscaler Fortinet Palo Alto Networks SentinelOne Wiz

📆 DATE: 25-02-2024 🚀 Day 52 of 100-Days Cybersecurity Challenge 🔎 What I Learned : CyberWarfare What is CyberWarfare? Cyberwarfare is a series of strategic cyber attacks against a nation-state, causing it significant harm. This harm could include disruption of vital computer systems up to the loss of life. Cyberwarfare is typically defined as a set of actions by a nation or organization to attack countries or institutions' computer network systems with the intention of disrupting, damaging, or destroying infrastructure by computer viruses or denial-of-service attacks. What Does Cyberwarfare Look Like? Cyberwarfare can take many forms, but all of them involve either the destabilization or destruction of critical systems. The objective is to weaken the target country by compromising its core systems. This means cyber warfare may take several different shapes: 1.Attacks on financial infrastructure 2.Attacks on public infrastructure like dams or electrical systems 3.Attacks on safety infrastructure like traffic signals or early warning systems 4.Attacks against military resources or organizations #cybersecurity #100dayschallenge #day52

Cyberattacks against critical infrastructure—such as manufacturing, utilities, transport, and healthcare—can destabilize societies and damage economies. This is a major reason attackers backed by hostile nation-states target them. Since 2021, we have detected more than 700 cyberattacks on the operational technology (OT) that controls critical infrastructure. Not only have traditional cyber defenses failed to stop these attacks, but they need to understand the sophisticated new forms of attack that have emerged in recent years. Our new White Paper outlines the cybersecurity challenges facing companies with critical infrastructure. We also provide a new approach for defending against code-level or process-level attacks that specifically target critical devices and applications. We see the attacks that existing defenses are missing. Download the new White Paper today: https://lnkd.in/dkWj6gJj https://lnkd.in/e-hgPzzP #ARIA #ZeroTrust #CriticalInfrastructure #AZTPROTECT

Critical infrastructure is the lifeline of modern society. The energy and water supply, communications networks and transportation systems all share one thing in common: as critical infrastructure, they depend on information technology. Data is one of the most valuable resources in the modern world and one that is under unprecedented threat from cyberattacks – and the threat is rising. Against this backdrop of constantly changing cyber threats, it is essential for industries with high security requirements, such as government agencies, the defense industry and critical infrastructure operators, to reliably meet applicable IT security standards and ensure the best possible protection for their IT infrastructure. Rohde & Schwarz contributes significantly to this effort with its forward-looking technologies. For a resilient society in a safer and connected world. Are We Really Safe? A Dive Into Cybersecurity's Latest Battleground In a world where digital threats loom larger by the day, one might wonder if our defenses are truly up to the task. Recently, Imperva – now under Thales wings – uncovered how the notorious 8220 gang exploited a chink in Oracle Weblogic's armor, unleashing malware with potentially devastating effects. This revelation isn't just a testament to our team's vigilance but a glaring beacon highlighting cybersecurity's ever-evolving warfare. This incident throws into sharp relief not just the sophistication of cybercriminals but also the critical need for relentless advancement in our security measures. It underscores a stark reality: in cyberspace, complacency could be catastrophic. While it’s commendable that Imperva's threat research department is on its toes, this scenario begs a broader question – are businesses across industries prepared to stand their ground against such insidious threats? Let’s turn this moment of revelation into action. If there’s one takeaway from this episode, it’s that awareness and preparation are non-negotiables in today’s digital age.
