Community engagement is more than just sponsoring events—it's about genuinely showing up and supporting the people around you. When your business is actively involved, it builds trust and strengthens ties with your clients. The more you invest in your community, the more your community invests in you. Authenticity and transparency go a long way in a world where it's often hard to find. Independent practices have a unique opportunity to connect on a personal level, and that connection is what keeps clients coming back, even when things aren't perfect. #CommunityEngagement #ClientTrust #AuthenticConnections #VeterinaryPractice #LocalBusiness #TransparencyMatters #BuildingRelationships #SmallBusinessSuccess

Give what you can…and there’s likely something you can give. I’m heading to Washington D.C. for the Human Rights Campaign Board of Governors meeting for my first meeting as a Governor and it has me reflecting on how we support what matters to us. I had a new professional reach out recently and asked about getting involved with an organization. Their concern was that they didn’t have anything to offer. LIES! Maybe it’s a skill set you bring around digital engagement, marketing, or process. Maybe it’s the time you have to volunteer at a local animal rescue. Maybe it’s a small financial contribution. It also could be some version of all three. All sorts of other organizations rely on individuals investing either their time, talents, or treasure/financial resources. As a new month starts and a new academic year begins, take a moment to think about how you might prioritize giving back this year.

At The Harbinger Group, we're proud to support mission-driven organizations. Recently, we helped a leading company amplify their long-standing community initiative, which provides thousands of meals annually to those facing food insecurity. Despite the event's success, they needed help gaining media coverage for this nearly three-decade-long initiative. Securing media coverage for a long-running event was a significant challenge. Yet, our Earned Media team excelled by taking a multifaceted approach: 1. Instead of just highlighting the numbers, we showcased the behind-the-scenes efforts and dedication of the volunteers who made this event possible. 2. Additionally, we emphasized how this year's event reflected the client's ongoing commitment to addressing contemporary community needs. Our strategy led to securing 36 pieces of coverage in just four days. It's fitting that our Community Review Process takes place during National Volunteer Week! We take pride in recognizing the hard working volunteers that give hundreds of hours to make the annual review process successful. These 40+ volunteers spend time visiting every agency, reviewing outcomes and outputs, evaluating budgets, and listening to agency presentations. This community led process is a hallmark of United Way and you can be proud knowing it is how your dollars are invested. #ThankYou #NationalVolunteerWeek #LIVEUNITED See less
