Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) accounts for about 10–15% of all breast cancers. According to the National Cancer Institute’s (NCI’s) Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Program, TNBC affects 13 in every 100,000 females in the United States. Notably, this disease disproportionately impacts women of color. To address this disparity, it is crucial to develop and expand research studies focusing specifically on women of color. Increased research will help us understand the unique challenges faced by these populations and lead to more effective, targeted treatments. Immunotherapy is just step 1.
