The Home Advantage for Cold and Compression Therapy Polar Care Wave® combines motorized cold therapy with active compression in a simple and compact system, making it ideal for facility and home use. Polar Care Wave is designed to reduce pain and edema to optimize patient recovery. Motorized cold therapy and compression devices, like Polar Care Wave®, have also been shown to decrease narcotic use post-operatively. 1* Reference 1- Waterman et al: Efficacy of combined cryotherapy and compression compared with cryotherapy alone. Transcatheter pulmonary valve replacement (TPVR) is commonly performed in patients with congenital heart disease as a safe alternative to replacement via open heart surgery. The aim of this JASE study is to demonstrate the feasibility of using 3D ICE catheters, outline their role in evaluating post-TPVR deployment success and complications, consider their additive value to two-dimensional ICE, and present our institutional experience with it in 50 cases of TPVR. bit.ly/498mk20

The therapeutic management of NF2 patients is challenging. Patients with NF2‐related VS and profound bilateral HL may benefit from cochlear implantation for extended periods, even after treatment or in cases of large tumors. Given the poor outcomes reported after ABI, cochlear implantation should be proposed as the first‐line therapy in patients with a preserved cochlear nerve. All the details of the cohort of the center of Auditory Implants of La Pitié-Salpêtrière (Paris) are published in Otolaryngol Head Neck Surgery. https://lnkd.in/eUKNzdNg #cochlearimpalnt #NF2

We usually see the spine through the #prism of the techniques that we master. I understood that #Spine #Endoscopy has completely #revolutionized my practice when i noticed that during the last week, out of the 19 patients operated on for degenerative pathologies, 14 were operated on endoscopically. All the others by anterior approaches ( #ALIF #ACDF #XLIF #XALIF ) #UBE surgeries in the last 8 days: 3 lumbar disc herniations 3 lumbar laminectomies 1 lumbar foraminotomy 1 cervical foraminotomy + discectomy 1 dorsal laminectomy 2 cervical laminectomies 3 #TLIF fusion Why continue to open the posterior column (apart from deformation surgery) when we have such powerful tools as the anterior approaches and posterior endoscopy? In my opinion, combining them multiplies their strength. Spine Research Community

#TBT - Patient Spotlight! "After evaluating my shoulder, Dr. Provencher recommended surgery and performed a revision rotator cuff repair. The arthroscopic surgery repaired the supraspinatus tendon as well as the infraspinatus tendon. In addition, he injected platelet-rich plasma to help promote healing. After my surgery I was diligent in completing the prescribed physical therapy, knowing that I had to do my part to heal my injury." https://medilink.us/4pl8 #regenerativemedicine #patientcare #patientsfirst #biologics

Among low-risk patients with severe, symptomatic aortic stenosis who underwent TAVR or surgery, there was no significant between-group difference in the two primary composite outcomes , death -stroke or rehospitalization related to valve. TAVI in low-risk patients with severe aortic stenosis compares favourably with surgical aortic valve replacement in terms of all-cause mortality or disabling stroke at 3 years.
